If they had VAR it would not have counted. He was well offside. Pause this at the very beginning

I can’t believe they didn’t have LDT there to greet him instead of Lletget. Fire everyone involved.Pretty cool. Nice to see who was the first to greet him on the field

That David scored. Every time I turn on Lille, David's scoring.Weah drew the penalty for Lille's first goal today en route to their 2-1 victory.
Gomez interview with Tactical Manager is up. Nothing too enlightening. Will not join the US youth camp because it conflicts with Louisville's playoffs. His brother is contracted with Porto (on loan in Germany somewhere).El Floppo said:do we think this camp is too little too late for Gomez? does he need to be brought in to this next "real" camp to help sell him on joining the US?
This is how he's looked the last couple games I've watched. His ability to receive the ball in MF and immediately create something useful on the turn or one time ball.... I've never seen a US MF player do this the way he is. It's combining some of Caillou with Germany and Kobi and Tab. And yeah...Musah has shown some of this too.I did not see the Juve game today but these Weston highlights!! Oh my, talk about positive play! Please bring this in the international window. Teams are going to be crapping their pants if Musah and Weston both do this

He's also top notch at receiving the ball in traffic and creating space for himself with clever little touches into an open area. definitely! he's seeing how to navigate out of things so quickly- and then doing it as you say. sometimes holding, sometimes turning, sometimes with a crazy one touch pass that springs their attack into place. it's not always perfect, but I feel like he's been the lynchpin of that team on offense the games I've been watching... even with guys like Chiesa and Dybala on the field. He's also top notch at receiving the ball in traffic and creating space for himself with clever little touches into an open area. it's the mayonnaise on everything.Maybe the guy just really hates chocolate, frites, and Trappist ales.
FWIW, I never thought he did anything in his appearances with Wolves or with the Nats to make me expect anything of him.
I kind of agreed with Doyle that he didn't really seem to be a MF to me. I thought he looked like a CB trying to (rather uncovincingly) play as a 6. And I get that's a transition lots of CBs handle fine, but he didn't really seem to read the game that well. Obviously, that's a big limitation as a CB too, but you can be a "stopper" CB and just kind of go and stop the ball and let your cover partner read more of the field. You don't really have that luxury at the 6.it's the mayonnaise on everything.
he was a teenager getting occasional minutes with an EPL team, and for the most part looking ok. agree he wasn't exactly "popping" but definitely looked like he belonged. that alone puts him in consideration and had me thinking there was a lot of room for growth as he got more pt. I was happy he moved to a smaller league to try to get more 1st team time- but for whatever reason he's gone the other way... at least for now. still only 20, so there's hope. I mean, Freddy is probably still only 20 too.
something the US needs desperately. What stood out in the highlights last night, and which hasn't always been a strength in Weston's game, IMO, is that Wes took up excellent positions between the lines. He was in a great space to either quickly hit the overlap outside, or to play a one-two with Dybala (in one case, one of those one-twos very nearly resulted in a goal).
It's funny that with Allegri being so adamant about emphasizing that Wes is a Mezzala it's almost like Max made Wes sit down and play some Football Manager to figure out where he was supposed to be. This is probably the best (albeit short) run that I can remember of Wes's career. Particularly as he still brings what he's always had, which is pure menace in the air. That's still his number one elite skill.
I never saw enough of him to know what position was his preferred or best. feel like I saw him as a 6, and as an outside MF. and yeah- looked tactically naive each time, which goes somewhat to being a teenager (Musah suffers a little from this as well). from the little I've seen, I think the Swag Mussah Mezzala role might fit him best- I kinda recall him progressing the ball well out of the MF, and following it up into good spots in the attacking third (as a sub probably pushing for a late goal)... but he's been nowhere near their technical/tactical abilities to pull that off.I kind of agreed with Doyle that he didn't really seem to be a MF to me. I don't think there would be enough for me watching the twitter nuts lose their junk if he gets called.Jozy heating up, guys.

… Jozy's on a vacation far away
Come around and talk it over
So many things that I want to say
You know I like my strikers a little bit older
… I just want you to score tonight
I don't want to lose your goal tonight
… I ain't got many Euro's left to talk to
Nowhere to run when I'm in trouble
You know I'd do anything for you
Come to camp but keep it under cover
Oh dear :( Scally might be even more crucial now. Jedi can go 180 so we just need to piece together the RB spot only.RUMOR: No Dest on the roster due to injury

(DEST): Sergiño Dest has not been able to recover from the discomfort and will not be able to travel to Balaidos for the game vs Celta Vigo. • Consequently, he will also miss the United States' World Cup Qualifiers vs Mexico and Jamaica.

I noticed he sat the entire CL game yesterday vs Zenit. But he still dressed. Figured they were giving him a rest after puting in a lot of minutes lately (and hoping it wasn't performance related for missing some sitters)RUMOR: No Dest on the roster due to injury

Really liked his aggression on the ball (Brooklyn, baby!), even if a lot of what he tried ended badly. Liked even more his ability to receive and hold with back to goal and man on- that's a definite strength, and far too rare from US players of all abilities. And can't argue with his desire to make the run and get into good spots in the box.
Bringing in da Jesus would be very interesting... (no, I'm not making a joke about your Lord and personal savior)Scally and Jesus as well.
Depends. In this scenario is he alive?how bad does Lleget have to play in games to not be called in any longer?
Still think Gregg would pull a Weekend at Bernie's and strap him to RoldanDepends. In this scenario is he alive?
Happy to see Scally, Richards, Busio. Not happy to see Lleget, Roldan AND Arriola.
And no Sargent/Dike/Pefok/Hoppe....interesting to say the least
That's how you do it, kids.Quote from Brooks, who is healthy btw:
