College World Series -- Anybody here gone? (1 Viewer)

I am part of a group of friends who go to a different city to watch baseball each year. This year's trip is heading to KC in mid-June, and one of the things we're planning is a side trip up to Omaha to catch the College World Series.

We would be going to the Thursday night session, which is a late elimination game in one of the two brackets.

What we're debating now is whether we should buy reserved seats (we'll have 12-14 guys), or if we can get a couple of the GA ticket books that they sell. I know those are good for any game, but there is a limit to how many they will admit GA for any given game. Was just wondering if there would ever be any issues trying to get in GA for any given game.

The answer to that is: Depends on the teams playing. If it two teams far from home, that late game should be easy to get into for GA.

Also, the early games are much harder to get into than the later games (championship excluded).

Well somehow my Hoos made the finals again. I dont think we have a chance against Vandy, but its been a fun ride regardless.

So I guess this is the place where I come in after all year of not watching and cheer for Vandy again and piss off Hoos First? (Like last year.)

Nah, good luck. I'd like to see UVA get one.

Didn't take much to keep us entertained, either. There was a decent outdoor concert/party area postgame a couple of blocks from the park. Harrah's was found. Good time had by all.

Good luck, Hoos and Dores!

LMAO - I was on my phone and didn't notice.

I was there in 1995 and don't remember a casino or that much else around there

Probably shouldnt be using 20 year old data . :bag:

The whistler should really be told to stop. Awful. More unlistenable than Aaron Boone.

Is it as bad as when the fans all of a sudden decided to start using the flashes on their cellphones during about the seventh inning of the LSU-TCU game last week? Yeah, apparently the fans in the GA section right in front of me started it.

Lots of things to say about this game, but that one was interesting. Why back up on that ball? It's the ninth. You'd end it there. Is there any risk besides eliminating the opportunity for a force at second? Love to see the expected win percentage on that decision. Perhaps he had no shot at that.

And damn, fifteen at-bats. Looking yard, for sure.

Going to want to hear the reasoning behind pinch-hitting a kid who was 1-for-15 on the season in that spot.

Congrats, Hoos. Hard to believe with all the great teams in the ACC over the years, they are the ones to finally end that 60-year hex.
