If there's interest, I'd like to do another extended pre-training camp Q&A again this year.

Last year's article covered lots of general IDP strategy and process, examined unsettled depth chart situations, questions about tiers, among other topics.

I'm targeting a mid-July publication date right now.

Post your questions here. :football:

K....have JPP in a million dynasty leagues (actually that's not factually correct, It's like three, but I only have three IDP dynasty teams).

So....The hand deal. I know we need to hear more, I know you've cautioned people on twitter that this hand issue can be a problem for a defensive lineman, and time will tell how he can or can't play with this ailment but...

Seeing that he's up for a new contract next year, would teams consider him a better option (in light of this hand issue, possilby being a long-term problem) to stand up and play as an outside linebacker as opposed to a defensive end?

This course could present a problem for his eligibility as a lineman as his career continues and he would then, potentially be classified as a linebacker for IDP leagues.

Second (and again, this is WAY EARLY to really know) but in your judgement of JPP's overall skills to be an effective outside linebacker if he were to enter the NFL draft today (that basically means, would he need an ideal fit / situation to be an effictive IDP LB option or would he work in any 3-4 base scheme from a skill standpoint)....

What do you think of him from a LB standpoint for IDP purposes if he has to make a transition (I would assume that he would make this transition, likely because it gets him the best long-term or garunteed money from teams around the league) to a new position?

thanks Jene in advance,

Sean

P.S. - I know this is way early so it's hard to give any solid reply but I figured these are good questions for IDP fantasy dynasty owners to be thinking about for there "injury trouble" yet "ultra talented" defensive lineman..as they think about his future

Update on the JPP situation, Giants officials went to the hospital in Florida but they weren't allowed to see him.

It looks like there's more than meets the eye here.....

Update on the LBs recovering from major injuries (Bowman, Derrick Johnson, Sean Lee, Mayo, Tulloch, etc...)

Yeah got that....didn't mean to turn this into a JPP update page, just throwing out a few thoughts in the early stages as Jene gets ready for Q&A session, but thanks for the update.

We can take this to a JPP chat board of it's own but for me...on that info.....

remember, the Giants just took a long-term offer off the table just before they "went down to see how he was doing"

If I were in his shoes I'd probably be thinkin'

"sure..you just want to come down and see me right now....and you just took that deal off the table...no thanks you can wait until I'm cleared to be out of here and I've talked with my agent before we get into you seeing how I'm doing (because you CARE so much) with my hand situation"

It's a business.

How would you rank the following sophomore DE's all of which landed in good situations? Who has the best chance to be a relevant in dynasty this year?

Tuitt, Stephon PIT

Jernigan, Timmy BAL

Crichton, Scott MIN

Lawrence, Demarcus DAL

I'm in a league that requires DT's. With a decrease in 4-3 fronts, I'm looking at NT's, but not sure what to look for. Are there any techniques or schemes that make some NT's more valuable then others?

I'd also like your thoughts on Michael Bennett, DT, Jacksonville. I noticed that he wasn't listed on your Combined Draft Board.

Brandon Graham. What's his play time, outlook, etc? As an OLB will he be a strong consideration in big play (8pts per sack, 1 pt per tackle) leagues ?

I have Jake Ryan, and also picked up Carl Bradford just in case. It seems like a forgone conclusion that Clay Matthews will be moved back to OLB, but that move hasn't been made yet. Is Clay Matthews definitely going back to OLB? Or do you think the Packers are waiting to see how these guys develop.

Why do the FF powers-that-be hate Brandon Graham so much? :kicksrock:

Holding in one league regardless of the LB classification, stubbornly hoping for a Justin Houston-esque breakout with higher snaps....but I'm honestly not expecting anywhere near that production. In this scoring format, he'll probably wind up a LB5/matchup guy.

But I just can't quit him.

Non-Graham related: Who is the play opposite Watt this year? Still Crick?

Cliff Avril have any shine left?

Casey is a very good DE but he can be stopped by two good linemen on a double-team. If he is stopped, the Titans apply no pressure and opposing QBs seem to pass at a 100% completion rate.

Unless some rook shocks us or DaQuan Jones suddenly becomes special, they still don't have someone opposite Casey.

Orakpo hasn't really practiced full tilt but assuming he's good to go...is it he or Morgan that you think they'll utilize as a pass-rusher to compliment Casey?

*********

Also, if I'm not mistaken both Lebeau and Zimmer utilized a 3-3-5 with James Harrison being somewhat of the coach's pet.

Late in 2014, Horton did use a 3-3-5 and it did OK-which was better than the yuck they were playing. Morgan's stats improved in this set.

I have never been supportive of a 3-3-5 until it's doing well on game day. It always looks weak on paper. I guess if it's good enough for Horton, Lebeau, and Zimmer it's fine.

What makes a team switch to this? (Weaknesses on D?) And if the Titans go 3-3-5 who is the Harrison role? That's the player to have in IDP right?

Burfict- what's his future outlook health wise. His trade value is at a low point it seems in my league. Is he a sell now for what you can or hold and hope he regains elite status? If he's a sell what are some upside LBs you would look to flip him for in dynasty? Shazier plus, Ogletree straight up, one of the rookies Anthony or Kendricks straight up or look to get more added, etc. (none of those are actual offers just trying to make it tangible). Would you trade him for a vet like Posluszny?
