Hey Fellers I found a deal! (1 Viewer)

Every now and then I come across deals.  I hate paying full price for stuff so I am always on the lookout if I need to buy something.  I figured we could start a thread where we post deals if we find them.  Some random deal sites:

https://slickdeals.net/

https://www.fatwallet.com/

https://brickseek.com/

http://ymmvdeals.com/ - Deal seeker by zip

http://fatfingers.com/ - Utilizes spelling errors to find ebay deals

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=amb_link_uDcW8jcsM-KzV9rx40cPnQ_2?ie=UTF8&bbn=10158976011&rh=i%3Awarehouse-deals%2Cn%3A10158976011&pf_rd_m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&pf_rd_s=center-14-0&pf_rd_r=H6KG4WR2MQ5N4KSB8PSR&pf_rd_r=H6KG4WR2MQ5N4KSB8PSR&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=b2f67e8d-2be8-4344-ace2-59ecb6d9d885&pf_rd_p=b2f67e8d-2be8-4344-ace2-59ecb6d9d885&pf_rd_i=1267877011  - Amazon deals - returns, returns, etc

A few current deal:

Some 60" TVs for around $200 - Again very hit or miss.

Alerts on Slickdeals are good plus just searching for things on the site is good because you get to know what a good price is for various stuff.  Always go there first for any moderate+ purchase.

Similarly, be sure to set alerts in http://camelcamelcamel.com/ for stuff you want on amazon, but are willing to wait for a better price.

And also for amazon, use http://fakespot.com/ to check the authenticity rating of the amazon reviews for any product you are considering.

ETA I've always relied on my gut and common sense to analyze Amazon product reviews, it's gratifying to see that the fakespot website generally rates them the same as my gut does.

Glad someone mentioned CCC. Between that and Slickdeals is how I do most of my buying.

I save a lot of money using Slickdeals but also spend a lot of money using Slickdeals. I figure it evens out I just get more for my money.

You would be amazed at some of the things you can find on the brickseek and ymmv pages.

CCC is a great resource as well.

SlickDeals is incredible.  I can't begin to count how much I've saved with this site over the years.  Like others have said, the Deal Alerts are  :moneybag:

I have a daily email alert with all of their 5-thumb (best) deals configured as well, so I get a daily digest of their 30-40 best deals in my Inbox every day.

If you're looking for cheap flights to a specific place, or just have a date open and are wondering where you can travel for cheap try:

https://www.google.com/flights/

Enter time ranges, airline, etc.  You can get a map from domestic and international locations and the prices (cheapest) to each place from your destination.  It's a really nice feature.

(Just to add, how to use this, and some other cheap-flight finding tools, I got from this post on reddit)

I mentioned this in the Black Friday thread. Few of the largest tv's I've been tracking for a long time have decreased in price and most have increased in price. I'm in wait mode.

I initially hesitated to share this site, because there's a real problem with the good in-store deals getting picked over, but I know there's only a few of you guys in my neck of the woods.

If you're a tool/DIY type guy, check the Garage Journal Hot Deals forum.  These guys scour places for great deals, especially clearance items at Home Depot and Lowes.  I think I probably buy several hundred dollars of stuff a year that I don't really need because the deal is too good to pass up.

Looked for those unicorn penny deals for months and never found anything.

I think it depends heavily on your store.  My local store is really good about taking inventory down.  The only thing I ever found were some Romex wire staples.  Regularly $12 a box for $0.01...and I honestly lucked into them because they were marked down to $3 and I was buying them at that price anyway.

I almost never have the good Lowes deals either.  My local store barely discounts.
