Post your Thanksgiving Recipes Here! (1 Viewer)

My mother has a wonderful recipe for Mashed Potatoes. When she would make this and take it to a friend's house for Thanksgiving, the dish was heavy! Part of this was due to large amount, but mostly due to the recipe. It is one of my daughter's favorites!

Ingredients
9 Large baking potatoes peeled and diced
1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
12 oz cream cheese, room temperature (OK to use light but not no fat)

Place potatoes in mixer bowl.
Cut butter and cream cheese into small pieces and add to the potatoes.
Beat until light and fluffy.

Looking for a cranberry sauce recipe that has brandy and nuts.

Anyone have a good one?

TIA
figure you can add nuts here;  also, i sometimes sub cointreau for brandy....

Makes about 2½ cups

Ingredients

3 3/4 cups whole cranberries (one 12-ounce bag)

1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup water

Juice and grated zest of 1 orange (about 1/2 cup juice)

1/3 cup brandy

1/3 cup raisins

3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

Combine cranberries, brown sugar, water, orange juice and zest, brandy, raisins, cinnamon and nutmeg in a large saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat and simmer gently for 10 to 15 minutes (the foam will subside and the liquid will thicken and turn glossy). Remove from heat and let sit at least 15 minutes before serving. Serve warm or chilled. May be prepared up to 1 month ahead (store in refrigerator).

Family Tradition in our house - Lime jello and pears.

Buy a can of sliced pears (don't use fresh ones - get the canned)

Buy a box of Lime jello

Make the jello and add the sliced pears

Put it in the fridge and serve with dinner (It's NOT dessert)

If you want to make it fancy, make it in a crystal bowl or something.  It's been a staple at our place for 30+ years.

Ok, who has the amazeballs gravy recipe? I have not made as I'm not a huge fan, but looking to satisfy all this year.
