So lets say you lost the manual to your pitching machine and cant find one online.

Lets say the dial is a standard 1-10 dial.   The minimum speed is 30 mph and the max speed we'll say is 70 miles per hour.

Would it be safe to assume the each notch on the dial is approximately 4.5 mph?

So we can "assume"

1 - 30mph

2 - 34.5

3- 39

4- 43.5

5 - 48

6- 52.5

7- 57

8- 61.5

9 - 66

10- 70?

Would be a pretty safe assumption since that knob controls the motor and it’s very likely linear.

Don't forget to factor in distance to the plate because really you are trying to get reaction time to be correct and not really MPH since typically a pitching machine is not placed 60'6" from the plate in use.

1 - Four Seam Fastball (30 mph)

2 - Curveball

3 - Slider

4 - Knuckleball

5 - Sinker

6 - Changeup

7 - Two Seam Fastball

8 - Screwball

9 - Splitter

10 - Four Seam Fastball (70 mph)
