Basic Drafting Principles Lost = More Value Than Ever

May be getting outscored a few weeks at QB and TE, but I'll take the top starting RB/WR combo in the league for now:StartersQB: M. RyanRB: F. Gore/R. Rice (keeper)Flex: Steven JacksonWR: B. Marshall/S. Smith (Car)/W. WelkerTE: Z. Miller (Oak)K: M. CrosbyD: JetsI was able to land Gore, Steven...

Basic Drafting Principles Lost = More Value Than Ever

could have phrased the title better but yes I agree with you.The theory is even more powerful now because many are going against it.

Basic Drafting Principles Lost = More Value Than Ever

For the two that passed over Gore, they did not have RB's as their keeper. They choose Rodgers and Brees. As for the others...I'm not a huge fan of Steven Jackson and would not have drafted him in Rd 1, but for him to go at 19 (2.07) with Brady and Schaub to go before him, I saw that as...

Basic Drafting Principles Lost = More Value Than Ever

I think many still go after "need" vs best available way too early in the draft. For some reason, some think that they need to have a top flight QB and will do it at all costs. Now that seems to be carrying over to TE. This is blinding some to studs that are on the table right in front of them...

Basic Drafting Principles Lost = More Value Than Ever

The basic principles of holding out for QB and TE's seem to now be lost. I could not believe the value at RB and WR I saw at our draft on Sunday. And this is a pretty solid league with guys who have been playing for years. Expect some studs in rounds 2 through 5 if you play it right. 12 teams...

    Rudi Johnson - Hammy?

I own Rudi and just picked up Watson as insurance...I'm not happy with Rudi as my #1 RB right now. If Watson has another outing like he did yesteday, I could see him taking carries away from Rudi, injured hammy or not. I kicking myself for not trying to sell Rudi after last week's performance...

Is there any teams here that took RB-RB

12 Team league, pick 10: 2-0 with the most points scored in the league Of note: 1.10 Rudi Johnson 2.03 Portis (got a lot of crap for this pick on here and with guys in my league but stood by my guns) 3.10 TO 4.03 Gates 5.10 Jamal Lewis 6.03 Calvin Johnson 7.10 Chambers 8.03 Vince Young...

James Jones - Sneeky Play this weekend?

I've been thinking about being "sneaky" here too...James Jones over DJ Hackett or Calvin Johnson as my #3 WR?

    The Portis Strategy

I like your thought process above but actually drafted a similar team as the one you proposed (just in a different order) without HOPING that Portis would land to me. I personally think he's going to be a stud and took him much earlier than his ADP to ensure I got him because I'm in a Shark...
