I don't think guys like Tiki and Westbrook were viewed as #1 RBs *at the time* they were playing special teams. They forced their way into bigger roles because they were too talented to keep off the field. If Hunter is viewed the same way, then he is going to have to force the coaches to play...
I've actually heard the opposite - I'd love to see where they label him an every down back. I like Hunter, so if this is true and they view him as the future, he could be a great pickup (almost) regardless of price.
I agree he's a nice guy to have to see what happens, but IMO his value is too high at the moment to make it reasonable to acquire him. His owners are probably thinking he'll be the next Ray Rice as you state; I recently inquired about him in one league and was told I would have to give the 1.05...
I think we're splitting hairs here. I mean if you were guaranteed multiple rings and a HOF caliber player, you're probably okay with the world even if you missed out on a better talent.Still don't understand the original post about Durant/Odin, though, unless there is some huge injury concern.
I'm not quite understanding the comparison. Are you saying one of RG3 or Luck will suffer massive injuries that will derail their career? That's the only thing I can think of, otherwise the comparison doesn't make much sense to me.
I agree it was a bad trade, but I don't necessarily agree that Freeman at his "top potential" is a marginal starting QB. I think he has a higher ceiling than that... but I still don't like the trade at all lol.
I don't think last year's class is close to this year's class. I remember thinking if you didn't have a top 3 pick, there wasn't much depth after that. This year I'm psyched to have mid to late 2nd rounders.
Tannehill isn't remotely in Luck or RG3's league -- I'd be stunned if he goes in many 1st rounds (except start 2 QB). Gabbart and Locker didn't go in any of my 1st rounds last year, and they were top 10 picks.
