What are Russell Wilson owners doing?

I'm not offended. I think the Seahawks want to be a balanced team rather than a running team, or at least capable of winning by passing the ball. This game against the Jaguars is basically a scrimmage, and I think they will use it as an opportunity to get better in the passing game. The...

    Actual NFL Salary/Contract League?

I took a look at this same idea during the offseason, and didn't like what I found. The problem wasn't the amount of data entry. It was how much fantasy value diverged from NFL value. A lot of good fantasy players are very cheap and a lot of fantasy nobodies are very expensive. Take a look at...

What are Russell Wilson owners doing?

The Seahawks will use this game to give their replacement left tackle some good reps. I expect even if the Jags get 0 total yards, the seahawk offense will go full speed and try to score 4+ touchdowns. I wouldn't be surprised if Lynch gets pulled early if the win looks secure, but I expect lots...

The death of the stud RB

My theory is that due to the CBA rules limiting padded practices, these first few weeks actually serve as practice for the running game. I anticipate running backs will run more effectively each week. You can already see some improvement from week 1 to week 2 across the league.

The Shark Pool in Decline - What happened?

An easy answer to this issue would be to let the thread creator mod their own thread; not with edit power, just deletion. That way you could start a thread and keep it clean by deleting any replies that don't contribute to the conversation.

The stud RB is dead as we know it

My theory is that under the current CBA with its limits on padded practices, it is more difficult to get the running game up to speed early in the season. Effectively, the first few games are "practice" for running the ball. I expect yards per carry will increase over the next few weeks...

    *** 2013 Oakland Raiders thread ***

Unfortunately Gabbert will not play next week, which hurts the Raiders' chances for victory.

    *** 2013 Oakland Raiders thread ***

Not sure how Oakland created as much pass rush as they did; I will have to watch the game again. But I was surprised and impressed. Pryor's only unforgivable mistake was the big sack on 1st and goal at the end of the game. He will learn. Streater did a good job staying alive on scramble drills...

Someone asked for a Pryor projection... I would guess something like: 8/20, 135 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT; 75 rush yds, 1 rush TD.

I would wait and see how he starts the season before thinking of trading him. His first two games look pretty soft, so he might produce. Try to watch the games and see if he gets his points solidly or ugly. If it looks solid, congrats on a good pick. If it looks ugly, try to move him.

Talk about guys you wind up with in almost every draft. Who is the common element on your teams this year? And why? For example, I find myself drafting Finley consistently. I think it is because I am adverse to going TE early (Graham, Gronk) and I believe Finley has increased opportunity in...

    *** 2013 Oakland Raiders thread ***

There were a couple plays where the Raider o-lineman just got beat. Hate to see that. Most of the pain though came from failing to diagnose where the blitzer was coming from and picking him up. I don't know if that's on the QB or center or both, but they definitely need to work on their...

    Official 6th pick thread....talking strategy

I've done a bunch of mocks from the 6-spot (12 teams) and usually I like my team a lot better when I go RB, WR, RB than when I go RB, RB, WR. The whole top tier of receivers gets taken before 3.06. If I go WR in the second there are still several good looking RBs availabe in the third. I've...

    The Audible LIVE! - 8/15/2013 10PM ET

Talk about risk vs reliability when building your roster through the draft, and finding the right roster balance. If you find yourself taking risky picks (RG3, Vick, MJD, McFadden, Garcon, Nicks, Gronkowski, etc.) do you -- or should you -- make an effort to take safer picks later to balance...
