This was actually a pretty good movie.  A bunch of friends and I were dying to see a movie in the theater as it had been awhile.  So we went despite the bad reviews.  I didn’t expect funny and I actually liked it.

My wording was incorrect. What I mean is this appears (and I will pass further judgment Monday) to be one of those movies that critics are luke warm on and viewers like.

Was out with a group of people last night. They were in their 30’s, didn’t seem overly dorky.  This movie can up and two dudes went on about how good and funny it was. Still highly skeptical, but love Tom Hardy.

Saw it last night and I liked it.  I wasn't expecting much but it was definitely better than I thought it would be.  Venom (the voice in Tom Hardy's head) had some funny lines.

Stay after the credits.  There's a scene where they reveal another new character from what we can expect to be the next Venom movie.

Saw it tonight, thought it was good to very good.  Will see a sequal, maybe.

A little silly with the cgi in the final fight, but it is a superhero movie.  Hardy would be good in a hemorrhoids commercial.

I thought it was hilariously bad, but it was fun to watch anyway. Most of the attempted jokes were awful. Just don't have any standards like the movie making any sense, even from a comic book perspective.

I think if you go in realizing its basically a buddy film between Eddie & Venom, you will enjoy it. If you go in thinking it will be a serious/evil comic book movie, you will hate it.

This isn't right.  We went and enjoyed it.  It's not on par with the MCU movies, but it had good action and some laughs.  I'd give it a B.

Except it is a comic book movie, based on a character that was bonded with Parker. You take that away and well the whole damn thing is ####. Loses everything meaningful since both Brock and the symbiote hated Parker. Venom doesn't become an anti-hero till way later after Carnage is "born" from Venom.

It was pretty bad, but not THAT bad.  They got a lot right with the character.  The dialog was pretty bad. Only movie that's even gotten the two guys in one head right was Fight Club and they separated them.  That stuff is always gonna be straight cheese.

Venom is owned by Sony, Deadpool by Fox (soon to be disney/marvel?) I think.

So no, unless a deal is struck like Spidey was by Sony/Marvel.
