✦✦✦ Official 2015 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread &#10 (1 Viewer)

I think that if Shazier had been in there (and healthy) that we'd have easily won the game. Forsett crushed our D because Spence was swallowed up in the wrong place.

This game gives me hope because we were able to generate lots of pressure, force turnovers without giving up any, and run effectively even though they knew we were going to run.

Vick sucked, but he got 0 real practices on the short week. The Chargers O-line is god awful and we should be able to destroy Rivers. I think our D and the return of Bryant will win us games. Teams can't triple team Bell or Brown when Bryant comes back.

Reed is a clown but his antics were entertaining to me when he was successful in Pitt. I doubt they bring him back but if he can figure out how to be automatic under 45 again I wouldn't oppose it.

The "show" would be worth it alone. And he can't be worse than Scobee right now. Could drink a six pack case of IC Light and be better.

Can't remember a game that's made me upset like this one did the next day. I'm going to chalk it up to being a Thursday night game and try to forget about it but if they walk into the next game asking Vick to not turn the ball over but to also put the game in his hands during critical moments I may have to actually avert my eyes until Ben is back. I think it was actually good Vick didn't turn the ball over, I guess that's what is truely frustrating is the team was good enough to win on other players talents and Haley/Tomlin still wanted the QB to be the offensive centerpiece.

Needed more DWill. Run him and Bell until their wheels fall off.

"O" line was very inconsistent last night.

Good pressure from "D" line, although they need to fix the run defense......very soon.

Need new kicker. A couple days ago would have been nice.

Tomlin irritates me with his game management/calls.

I am going to hold my opinion on Vick until he gets more real practice time. But right now, it about where i thought it would be. Meh.

Need to see some "big" packages, with more than 1 TE and a fullback.

"I wanted to redeem myself, but I didn't get it," he said. "I understand it. I just have to move on."

"I feel like I let the team down. It's a bad feeling. It was a hard-fought game on both sides. I wish I had been able to come through, but it just wasn't my night."

And on whether or not he'll lose his job:

"I can't think about that stuff," he said. "I just have to let it play out."

What a missed opportunity to put the Ravens away for the year and log a win without Ben. Some questions from last night's game...

Why wasn't Scobee cut before this game? He's been basically terrible all season. I don't care how much money he is being paid, kickers can't be the reason you lose.

And this whole "Vick was on a short week and didn't have enough time to prepare" thing is frustrating. Sure, that true, but how horrible is Landry Jones if Vick off the street is better than him after 3 years in the system? Why did they spend that 4th round pick on a guy who can't start a few games after 3 years - completely crazy.

no way they cut him this week...maybe in a couple weeks but not now
Why?
No specific reason, I just feel like they wont cut bait this soon.
This soon? He's missed 4 FG's and a PAT in 4 games. Both games likely cost them a win. Two makes last night barely squeak in. It's time. Contract fallout and all. No idea why they put Hartley on IR. If they waived/injured he could be available now.

Still pissed. I still say you run on 3rd down with 240 left. Make ravens burn last timeout. Or 2 min warning

I think Tomlin let the masses know what his plan for Scobee was when he didn't let him go for the FG.

If you can't let your kicker on the field in that situation, that kicker doesn't belong on the team.

For all the recent talk from Tomlin about how he coaches by his gut, that gut failed him hard last night. As in "EG after 2 plates of lamb vindaloo and 4 liters of Kingfisher" level of failure.

Should have punted on the 4th down instead of going for it or kicking the FG. Pin Ravens deep and trust the D.

If he wants to kick something, he might want to try starting with booze.
NO! That's what makes Reed awesome! It's akin to Spinach for Popeye. :)

He was a total toolbox, but I loved Reed; the Heat Miser hair, the fighting of paper towel dispensers, etc.

A true fringe lunatic. At this point I think I would welcome him back for the car wreck factor alone(as I'm sure every 4 in the tri-county area would as well. They've probably been lonely).

Sign ####ing Ray Finkle for all I care.

Ive got an empty jar down here in VA, who up in Pittsburgh can cut off Scobee's balls so I can put this jar below my Terrible Towel on the mantle?

What kickers are even available? Scobee is as good as gone, so lets speculate.
Jay Feely, Mike Nugent, Alex Henery and Billy Cundiff. My money is on Cundiff or Henery.
Cincy cut Nugent?
Maybe he meant Ted Nugent.
Well hell, Id still take him over Scobee. Its about time for them to retire Styx and Renegade anyway. We should bring in the Nuge and make Stranglehold the new team song.

Also didnt see anyone mention in here what a beast Tuitt is becoming. 10 solos and a sack last night. Sack in 3 games in a row.
Averaging 3.5/game. If that keeps up for 16 games it will blow away last years total.

Unfortunately they're surrendering 3 sacks/game.

Yeah, he's really been starting to live up to those "Baby Seymour" comparisons all the talking heads were foisting upon him pre-draft. Hopefully it continues.

In all honesty....I wonder how much more of a car wreck Reed could be than Scobee?

I sort of want this to happen just to have the Heat Miser hair back in black and gold. Plus, if any rogue paper towel dispensers step to Pittsburgh they're gonna get owned. :)

He got kicked out of the HOF game for a drunken fight with a fan. I just can't see it happening, fun as it would be. He's also 36 and hasn't kicked in 4-5 years.

His description of the events are much different. According to him, there was no fight, he was being harassed by a drunk Steelers fan, he went to security to diffuse, elected to leave with his friends before it escalated more.

If true, not sure why they'd go this route (Boswell). Never kicked in the NFL, released by 2 teams before end of preseason, averaged 74% at Rice.

I just don't get it either. Had to be better options than this kid.
