I'd say it's probably unlikely that Bell plays on Saturday.

If that proves to be the case, we're going to need to sign someone. No way we can roll into the playoffs with Archer and Harris as the only 2 tailbacks. What are the options?
They should sign Lache Seastrunk off the Titans PS. Some thought he was the next Barry Sanders. ;)

Two I can think of off the top of my head are Felix Jones (not an unfamiliar face) and Andre Brown.

Oooof. I wouldn't be shocked to see them bring Jones in for a look. I wonder if any of these guys are in shape. Rice (don't think they even sniff him,) Brown, and Jones all haven't seen the field in at least 3-4 months. Tate probably most likely to be in game shape.

Talent may have left a few years ago but Michael Bush is available.

Think there's no way they mess with Rice. Wouldn't mind Tate.

Another tiny guy? Larod S-Howling.

In all that, hopefully Bell is okay. No structural damage is the word. :fingerscrossed:

I think they actually considered signing him when they cut Blount and Cleveland released Tate. I suspect that he may get a phone call.

I think Bell is fine long-haul but a hyperextension can be a multi-week injury. If he can't go, they have to bring somebody in, whether it's Perkins or someone not currently on the roster.

I just called the Vikings front office and told them that I'm a die-hard fan from St. Cloud and that all my friends and I are canceling our season tickets unless they cut Adrian Peterson right now.

this is interesting...

The Steelers are not in a hurry to rush Richardson into a role on defense. As it turned out, cornerback was not as big of a need for the Steelers as many analysts had believed.

Lake agreed with defensive coordinator **** LeBeau, who said Friday that he liked many of the free-agent cornerbacks on the roster. Lake singled out Antwon Blake, who joined the team in 2013, and Brice McCain, who was signed as a free agent earlier this spring.

"Antwon Blake is one, very fast, quick aggressive corner that I liked coming out last year," Lake said. "We were fortunate to grab him in free agency, and he's turned out to be very productive for us, especially on special teams. We got Brice McCain in the offseason, who I have been working with on the field the last couple of weeks. I'm really impressed with the way he moves.

"I think these guys are just getting started. They have the ability to cover and stay close to receivers. For guys who have been picked up in free agency that may have been overlooked in the past, I'm pretty excited about them. I think we have the ability to plug in and play some of the players we've picked up."

Of course they're going to say that but is it true and do they really believe it? I don't think the situation is as grave as some (most) others do because if they can get better (which we think they have) in the front 7 that takes a lot of pressure of the DBs and by having Shazier who is not the liability Williams/Garvin are you can get Troy back into more of a rover role instead of a pseudo linebacker.

That said, the concern is depth, Ike is probably in his last year and Cortez is a FA after this year.

Heard this little tidbit about Brice McCain. He's rated the worst CB last year by Pro Football Focus and some people have heard that and think there's no way he makes the team. Some of those same people think William Gay sucks. William Gay made the list of most underrated CB by PFF. They say he should be making top CB money. So, take PFF for what it's worth.
Think McCain proved the worth of PFF. Of course I do (did) agree with Gay being underrated (not worth top $ though).

Just talking pipe dream here and there doesn't seem to be any sign of Lebeau slowing down but Rex Ryan running the defense would be pretty interesting if **** decided it was time to retire. I'm sure heads would collectively explode with Haley on offense and Rex on defense.

Not gonna happen. Keith Butler is next man up. And Rex will get a HC job somewhere. My guess is the Bears.

Regarding bringing someone in (or promoting PS) for another RB body, who do they release to make room?

Good call I forgot how long Butler has been waiting in the wings.

I'm hoping Rex Ryan goes the TV game analyst route.

That would be fun!

I think the more likely scenario is Rex as HC of the Bears and Rob as DC

Heyward Bey or Chris Hubbard
I'd have to go no and no on those, esp HB. He's usually in on nearly half the special teams snaps. Hubbard is a possibility since he's usually a healthy scratch. Would hate to expose him to free agency though since there's little depth. Justin Brown makes sense since he's been a healthy scratch and they have depth there.

MRI showed no ligament damage but pain is going to be a factor. Questionable at best. Will be telling if they do call Tate or another FA/PS back.

No surprise there. I don't think Bell plays this week, just hoping we can advance and he'll be back for Denver.
After Harris ripped off that 55 yard run I think he has some potential. He's not Bell though. And having nothing behind him, sorry Dri you've got a ways to go, is not a good idea. Still wonder who they move to make room.

I was wrong, you guys were right. I thought after getting blown out by Cleveland to fall to 3-3, my poor to mediocre prediction would come true. However, they flipped a switch offensively at that point only stubbing their toe against the lol Jets.

Rex Ryan's headed to ESPN for a year to be an annoying analyst primed to make audacious remarks to con an NFL owner into hiring Ryan as HC for a truly desperate franchise in 2016.

Seems Ray Rice's been black-balled. If not, and he's in game-shape, who'd have been a better veteran to replace Bell versus Baltimore? Minnesota cut Tate in short order. Second team to do so this season.

Sad to say, a Kubiak offense presents serious problems for the Steeler D with the Smith guys and Forsett out there. Ravens will play pass the whole game. Ben will be under lots of pressure with a lame run game. The saving grace may be a Ravens win guarantees they get slaughtered in NE.

PIT wold probably like to have a "redo" on how the Blount thing was handled right about now....
Doubt it. Can't have that happen on your team without it leading to echoes of more badness.
I think Blount is also the kind of guy content to coast until some team chases him off and he can run angry for a while. If he were still in Pittsburgh, I think he'd be sullen, stoned, and half-assing it like he was while he was suiting up for them.

Ouch, that's a gauntlet.

Was Justin Brown signed by another team? Interesting Coale gets on the PS instead of recently cut Brown.
Haven't seen anything. They must feel they've seen enough of him. They liked Coale but he has had injury issues and was released due to injury.

Also wondering if Brown has PS eligibility left since he was active several times this year.

Really big loss for the Steelers. I think the Steelers can beat the Ravens through the air and whatever running game that Harris/Archer/Tate can muster.

I doubt I'll be in the game thread tomorrow, so wanted to wish the FBG Stiller fans good luck.

It sucks about Bell, but I don't think it's gonna matter. The Ravens haven't played a good game in a month and only squeezed in because of schedule and other teams imploding.

Just got two free tickets to the game through work. PUMPED.

Normally I wouldn't go because I just don't like going to football games. The drunks, the weather will be horrid, etc. Would much rather watch from home on my tv. But I couldn't pass it up. A playoff game against the Ravens. The energy in the stadium should be insane.

Ravens fan here, and I agree with Uruk.

Ravens will have to show something they haven't done all year to pull this off. Even if its just the ability to cover receivers.

I shudder to think of Antonio Brown lining up in the slot and across from him is..........Matt Elam :topcat:

I don't understand DVD or any of those advanced stats people throw around, but I will say this - Baltimore's front 7 has been magnificent for the vast majority of the season, I don't care how they rank. When you consider the bad spots the offense AND their own DBs have put them in, it's been just about the lone shining star of the season.

I think 3 things HAVE to happen for the Ravens to have a shot at winning:

1. Magic Playoff Joe has to show up for all 4 quarters or #2 doesn't happen.

2. They've got to be able to run or #1 doesn't happen.

3. They've got to get to Ben a TON or none of the above matters because he'll throw for 9,000 yards.
