as an avowed metal head, "Too Shy" is my secret shame song.

and "You Spin Me Round" should have been in the poll.

 
I voted Cars---just have a lot of memories listening to that song.

I almost went with I Ran or I Want Csndy, But I agree there are just too many good ones to chose from.

Of all those songs - irrespective of what you want to call New Wave - the best IMO is How Soon Is Now. Killing Moon would be a close second IMO.

One tune not there that I might have put above all is "Under The Milky Way" by The Church.

The music of Blondie (were they left off?), Yaz, and Depeche Mode (although they outlived the genre by a lot) always screamed New Wave to me.

 
I don't even really like Echo and the Bunnymen all that much but they did have a couple fantastic songs, Killing Moon is one of them.

from this list, Flip a coin between that song and How Soon is now.

Guilty as charged. I'm a music :nerd: for 70s-80s Punk/Post Punk/New Wave/College/Alternative genres and sometimes loose my cool.Human League Being Boiled is a 70s song . Martyn Ware & Ian Craig Marsh were still in Human League before the left to form Heaven 17 .

Well "Don't You Want Me" is also the Human League song that belongs on this kind of list. Just felt bad for the guy - had to take him a hour to post all that ####.

And Tim, you have to be kidding on the "Video Killed the Radio Star" but I know you're not.

 
Off specific topic but somewhat related.

My 18 yr. old son and I watch "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" for his 1st time last night. Lots of these kinds of tunes in there.

I haven't seen it in years but still know many of the lines by heart. Dated but great "of that time" piece. Still some pretty funny parts as well.
