#2 pick in PPR AP, MJD, or Rice? (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
10 team PPR (1 pt per reception, 6 pts per TD rushing or receiving, 1 pt per 10 yard rushing or receiving, and -3 for fumbles, no bonuses)

I would assume CJ is going #1. I took MJD last season #2 after AP and he treated me right. This season AP is there for me to take, but I am nervous about them and his extra work and injuries. According to the projections on Footballguys Rice would be my best choice due to his receiving prowess, but will that continue?

Who would you take at #2 given my league points?

Phil ain't going to encourage blatant WSIS threads in the Shark Pool.

Phil thinks you've been here long enough to know better.

Not sure why Phil talks in third person nor knows enough that the shark pool is for "who should I draft" threads, which the forum description even provides. Explain what I should know better.

It's at the top of the very first page. Phil doesn't know how you've missed for the past two years.

thanks for the heads up. I just noticed the notice at the top of this forum's page stating that. That is confusing since the description underneath the shark pool where you choose a forum says differently, but no worries.

RRice and it's not really that close imo. I think he catches 75 passes this year. He is the new Brian Westbrook, without the injuries, and a much better RB.

You would make a good forum police officer. Are you in training? And for the OP. Dude if you need someone to hold your hand for pick 1.2, what are you going to do in the mid to late rounds?

I'm in the same boat as you....#2 pick, ppr. I'm leaning towards Rice myself. Probably splitting hairs here, but I think Rice is actually the safest pick of the 3.With AP, I think the Vikings offense as a whole takes a step back this year. Sidney Rice is a question mark with is hip, Harvin is a question mark with his migraines, and Favre is a year older playing on a bum ankle. Plus, their O-line hasn't impressed me this preseason, or even towards the end of last year. I think his rushing yards go down maybe 100-150 yards, his catches and receiving yards stay about the same (maybe improve slightly), but his total TD's go down rather significantly. With MJD, I'm worried about how he finished the year last season and just the fact that he plays on such a bad offense. He'll get touches, as he's the focal point of the offense, but I just don't see a big year for him, based mostly on the lack of talent around him. With Rice, I think he'll lose some catches to Boldin, say maybe 10-15. But I believe his rushing yards go up slightly based on the Ravens offense improving and being on the field more. Along those same lines, I also think he'll get a few more opportunities to score. Basically, about a net wash from last year.To put it another way, I believe Rice can finish anywhere from the #1 RB to the #6 RB, whereas I can see AP or MJD finishing anywhere from the #1 RB to the #12 RB.My long-winded :2cents: .

Red -- I am actually beginning to think like you on this one. I feel pretty certain that Favre will not last the season, and with the depleted WR corp, opposing defenses will just load up the box on the Vikes, which will mean a lot more pounding on AP.Rice on the other hand, has the potential to be in a much more balanced offense, and the improved WR corp should actually open up the running game. He "could" be in for a monster season, but at the very least I feel he has the least question marks and risk.I'm already anticipating the laughs when I pass on AP and take RR...
