Two Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl rings from 1975 and 1976 are going up for auction on eBay.

The rings were given to a front-office employee of the team, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

Fred Fall of Fall Liquidation in Oakmont, Pa., put the rings up for sale as part of a bankruptcy liquidation. Fall said that he did not include the name engraved on the ring in the description to spare the person embarrassment.

"This ring is exactly as Joe Greene or Jack Ham's or any of the other players' rings," Fall said. "The only difference is that the name is different. It's a real, authentic Super Bowl ring."

The first ring, marking the Steelers' 1975 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, goes up for auction at 12:15 p.m. Monday with bidding closing after a week. Bidding for the second one, which celebrates the team's 1976 defeat of the Dallas Cowboys, begins half an hour later and also lasts for a week.

$16,000 right now, Anyone want to guess how much the winning bids will be. My guess is about the $25,000 range.
Double that and you might be close. In a 7-day auction, just like every other auction, all the action will come in the last couple hours. It's already at $16k, I'd guess that it hits at least $25-30k by Sunday morning, and then the real action of last-minute snipers will come in late.

if I had one of those I would sell to too.

now that we know that Terry and the boys were on ROIDS.

just another tainted ring.

1. The roids in question were not illegal or banned by the NFL in the 70s2. If you think the Steelers were the only team in 70s taking roids then I have some beach front property in Pittsburgh to sell you...

I thought it was fairly well acknowledged that the Steelers were a year or two ahead of the curve on this. That it was their success that was instumental in popularizing them.We should take up a collection and get one of these rings for Evilgrin's wedding present.
