2006 NFL DRAFT (1 Viewer)

Here goes the Cromartie bashing....
SOD imo.
 When FSU coaches say "best athlete we've had since Deion", you better pay attention.

EXACTLY what the Chargers need. Adding McCree at safety and Cromartie at corner should go a long way to shoring up the pass defense.

Now the Chargers go OL for the rest of the draft....
If Michael Johnson had played football at FSU, they would have said that about him too. Doesnt affect his ability to play Corner though.

Local radio in Pgh talking about the Steelers maybe trying to move up to the Chiefs spot.
For who? I could see them going after Maroney.
They're saying Holmes.
Pitt definitely needs a #2 WR. There isn't one on their roster. Don't tell me about Cedric Wilson.
ok. Quincy Morgan. :bag: Still...don't want to trade up for any of these guys. The deeper we go, the more it looks like a solid rb or one of the 2 wr's will fall to the Steelers. :towelwave:

:lmao: oh NOW, you're talking up the benefit of the FSU program. Cute.Anyway Justice falls to Tampa? Or does NE grab him?

Honestly, I've been watching FSU football all my life. He's one of the most phyiscally gifted players I've ever seen here. I was pretty sick when I heard he'd miss the entire year.

Does he have the instincts needed to be a good CB? Didn't get to see him play much. With the new rules designed to help the passing game, I wouldn't take a CB in the first unless I was certain the guy is going to come in and play at a high level from the get go.

Holmes is the only WR I like in Rd 1, and I don't want to trade up for him. The other 2 wouldn't normally be first rounders. This is a weak top end draft for WRs.

Good value in the 2nd & 3rd.

If the Pats went CB here, there are four to pick from:

Jimmy Williams

Jonathan Joseph

Richard Marshall

Ashton Youboty

Kelly Jennings

Deangelo Williams is there too....

Winston Justice....

No WRs taken yet....

Lots of choices....

Deangelo Williams is there too....
Curious where he will land. Of course Tampa and Cincy won't take him. San Fran seems a possibility. Could he be around when Indy picks instead of Maroney...

Hali = Reach.
To answer my own question of why Hali had a bad combine:He had a bad combine because he was taking a full load of classes to finish his degree right up to and through the combine. He studied for a test the last day of the combine when he wasn't doing drills. The guy is an excellent player with a lot to prove and a great head on his shoulders. I wish Seatle would have got him.

This kid has an incredible story. Came to the States when he was 11 from Liberia. Someone easy to root for.
His backstory is amazing...TSN had a great article about him and the horrors of his life thus far. However, that doesnt change the fact that KC reached for a weak, slow DE they could have gotten 10 picks later.
You really don't have to be but so fast to be a d-lineman.I know guys like Peppers and Freeney are exciting, but the QB is a whopping 5 yards away from you. You don't need a 4.5 40 to rush the QB.

Random question:Has Boldin's success surprised you?

I believe you, and I think its entirely possible he'll be a great CB with some coaching. But him being a great athlete does nothing to justify the pick right now. Of course, GMs have justified more with less, so....

It would be a shocker if the 49ers didn't take DeAngelo Williams.
I disagree. This team has tons of needs. I look for them to draft Justice or defense.

What are the Chiefs looking at?  DB?  I haven't followed them this offseason.
Most likely DB, but if Lawson is there, he'd be a great pick.(K bell sucks)
Yeah. Jimmy Williams would be good at that spot. Edwards likes db's. But can they pass up Manny. Seems like i said that before.
I'd be stunned if KC does not take Lawson if he's available.
To play DE or Linebacker?
DE would be my call.

Thinking that to but Hicks came on and have to see if it's time to give up on Barlow at last.

Id love to see you say that straight-faced to a football coach. If he didnt laugh you out of the room, hed probably punch you.

Not with how much the 49ers reportedly loved Williams. And there will be plenty of good o-linemen available in round 2.

Hali may still have been there at 54 (KC's next pick).KC may have been better served with a player who's slipping, like Justice, and either Hali or a comparable DE in Rd. 2.

True. We'll see if those reports had any substance.

I doubt that.EDIT TO ADD: GB would have taken him at 37

Sometimes you just have to project how good a guy will be. I think he's a top-5 guy if he played in 2005.
