2006 Shark Pool Suicide : Week 7 ---- 329 still alive (1 Viewer)

looks like a lot of people (not just JAX picks) are going down.

I saw some SD, PHI and CAR picks as well.. they all lost.

I really wanted to pick the Jets, because I think Seattle is overrated as hell. But since I think Minnesota is arguably one of the worst teams in the league and should be 0-5, hard to shy away from a SEA home pick.

Id say about 100 or so will remain after the upsets today, im out with Jax's stumble.

Thanks for the effort ACP and good luck to whoever is left!

By my rough count, 165 people are out (Half the league!) on the JAX upset alone. I think about 30-40 others are out thanks to the Philly + SD losses.

Last week and this week really wiped the field out. Sadly I'm one of them. :bye:

Oh well, big thanks for running this Ahrn.

Too bad most of you guys should have been gone in Week 3 with the Miami game.

Says the guy who was lucky to squeak by in Week 1 with New England.

That was a pretty terrible comeback, considering the beatdown BUF just got.

ACP thanks for all the hard work!

Your rooting for Houston carried over... there will be about 10 people left after this week!

Week 7 - I don't feel good about this pick, I really wanted to pick Cincinnati but they seem to collapsing right now. Sooo......SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
:wall: Don't change your pick, don't change your pick, don't change your pick ... :wall: ACP, thanks for running this, it should get a lot easier after this week.

Don't ya hate it when your "holy crap what is he thinking" pick turns out to be true and knocks out half the pool, yet the lock you pick ends up losing too?
LOL. Yeah. If I really had any balls I wouldn't have just called the Texans upset, I would've made them my pick. But I was a wuss and died along with the JAX pickers. Oh well. That's why I'm sitting here instead of getting rich in Vegas. :bag:

This is all unofficial until the man checks in, but by my count:

329 at the start (although his spreadsheet had 330 names)

17 = no pick

Code:
out	Jacksonville	160out	Seattle	43out	San Diego	9out	Arizona	18out	Carolina	1out	Miami	1out	Philadelphia	10out	Pittsburgh	2	New England	14	New York Jets	11	Denver	12	Indianapolis	30	Dallas	2
244 out, 67 survive, 2 have Dallas on Monday

What the heck does a BUF beatdown have to do with Miami squeaking by in week 3 and New England squeaking by in week 1?

i thought i was such a genius for passing on the jags...til the hawks stunk up the joint. :bag:

it's been real, it's been fun...but it hasn't been real fun. :bye:

Wow...I was torn between SEA/JAX the whole week and finally decided to go with NYJ just last night in both this and another one I'm in with a $6000+ 1st place (Down from about 320 to almost 100 just like this one) :pickle:

Damn it. Forgot to post a pick. If I still can, give me Dallas tomorrow night, if it's too late, so be it.
Me too. Bad day all around for Steeler fans. :bag: However, I am out regardless, as my decision was to pick either the Jaguars, Chargers or Seahawks. Since they all lost, I'm the most deserving of all to be out this week. Thanks for the effort, Ahrn!Good luck to all who survive and advance to Week 8.

This statement couldn't be much further from the truth. Minnesota has played well for the most part this season. Now with the beatdown in Seattle to wreck their 12 game home winning streak it's official that the Vikings are not a bad football team. With all the pimping Chicago was getting especially last Monday Night the so called experts failed to even mention that Chicago was lucky to get out of Minnesota alive as Minnesota was dominating the 4th quarter until Chicago got a timely turnover and won the game. They could very easily have 2 losses already. The Vikings are much more prepared to succeed this year than they have been for many years because they run the ball, play good defense and finally have a competant head coach. They are no longer a team of premadonas but instead a team that wins ugly and plays tough all around. I can't say that I expected them to beat Seattle as badly as they did but I wasn't surprised that they were in the game until the end because they have been in every game this year except for arguably the Buffalo game. Wins now against Seattle, Washington, Carolina and Detroit and losses against Buffalo and Chicago is a good start overall. After New England next week the schedule softens a bit.I was happy to pick the Jets this week to remain amongst the elite still standing. I never like picking a road team no matter how much they are favored by so that eliminated Jax for me. I went with the strategy of picking the Jets so I could still have several good teams to choose later on and the way the Jets have been playing I figured they were a good bet to take out Detroit. I have only used Arizona, Philly, Baltimore, Denver, Minnesota, Miami and now the Jets. I am planning on making a deep run at this thing and have plenty of ammo left to make it happen. Now I just have to avoid a major upset.

good post and very sound logic. i took the minn def in one of my fantasy leagues. i just had a feeling about the team.i also agree about home teams and nearly picked the jets myself. however, i have been taking chances this pool. the above avg teams (use the word loosely) left for my picks are phila, chi, sea, jack, minn, stl, s d, and nyg. not too bad but not a great pool like the teams you have avail.

I'm just now bck to life after tailgating and that great (wel, except for the outcome) ATL-PIT game yesterday.

The streets are fowing with the blood of those cut this week -- I was pulling for the Houston upset, which I got. :pickle: But I took San Diego. :ptts:

I'l get up the final #s for this week today....being ofline all day Sunday has left me a little behind with this thing.

guess I'm outta here! Really thought twice about going with Seattle since I was pulling for the Minn D/ST in my league this week...

Great job with this ACP!

I am sure lots of the guys left are in the same position you are having hit on Miami and NYJ. And avoiding the major upset is the name of the game. There are over 200 people who could have said on Saturday "all I have to do is avoid the major upset"

Man, I was all ready to come pile on in here on people who took Jacksonville and San Diego in divisional road games -- basically breaking all suicide pool rules while doing so ... and then Seattle lost.

Ah well, I'd still take the Hawks there 10 times out of 10. :ptts:

Thanks Ahrn.
