2007 NFL draft on television (1 Viewer)

I am sorry for asking a question that has probably been asked and discussed many time, but I cannot find it this info anywhere. :sadbanana:

I know the draft is on 04/28 between 11 AM and 10PM and on 04/29 between 11 AM and 6PM.

The question is who will have the live coverage this year? Is it ESPN/ESPN2 or the NFL Network? Is it both?

If both, will it be the same feed?

If not the same feed, what will be the difference? Who will host each? Will they both actually be on the draft floor or will one be a studio version?

I have watched the draft for the last 6 years (both days--yeah yeah I know "get a life"). The last 3 years I used TiVo and this helped. If this year, the NFL has split the draft between two networks at the same time, I am not sure which to TiVo/watch.

Any information you have would help.

ESPN and NFLN.

not sure who will host ESPN outside of Berman and Kiper, NFLN will have prolly Rich, Adam, Mayock, Charles Davis and maybe Corey Chavous. I preferred NFLN's coverage last year.

Now I feel like a real dummy. The NFL Network covered the draft live last year too? I guess I am not as up on things as I thought. Did they actually have the announcers on the draft floor like the ESPN team did? How "NFL politically correct" were they? I like the NFL network, but sometimes the information seems a little white-washed.

I refuse to watch ESPN's coverage as long as that smug jagoff Berman is hosting giving away all the picks right before the commish announces them. And then acting like he's a know-it-all and doesn't have an intern telling him everything in his ear.

Now that I know that NFLN had the draft last year, I did a quick internet search and discovered that the people that looked at both the ESPN/ESPN2 and NFLN version in 2006 generally had this to say:Berman vs. Eisen - Eisen wins

Kiper vs. Mayock - Mayock wins

Irvin vs. Chavous - Chavous wins

other ESPN analysts (Hoge, Schlereth and Jaworski) vs. NFLN - ESPN wins

ESPN graphics vs. NFLN - ESPN wins

Day 2 coverage - ESPN wins

Seems pretty split to me. I may have to TiVo NFLN this year because I have to agree about Berman (I got tired of him a few years ago), Kiper (Baltimore native like me, but stop talking about how wonderfully you predicted) and Irvin (LOUD mouth ***hole), but I do like the ESPN pick ticker.

If any DS did a comparison last year, I would definitely like to hear your thoughts.

Both are on the floor. It's kind of surreal to see two stages in the middle of the seats at RCMH. I would be tuned to NFL network if i was watching from home.

At what time does the draft actually start? Or to put it another way, when will the first team ***officially*** be on the clock?

I've seen that ESPN's draft coverage begins at 11AM Eastern, but is there any lead-up or is that going to be the "kickoff" time?

A buddy of mine is throwing a draft party and wants to get the time right on the invitations. A link would be wonderful, so I know I'm not misleading this guy or feeding him bogus info.

I'm pretty sure it starts at 12 PM Eastern. I recall the first pick not being on the clock until 12:10-12:15 PM last year iirc.

Irvin will not be involved anymore, which only helps ESPN. He was canned by ESPN a few weeks ago.

Can anyone confirm or deny? Preferably with a link?

I do remember that now that you mentioned it. I may still TiVo NFLN, but when watching live I will switch between ESPN and NFLN to get an idea of what the difference is.BTW Despyzer

Isn't it amazing how the NFL does not provide that information easily on their web-site?

But, 12 PM eastern is the actual start time for both Saturday and Sunday.

TV coverage are (all times ET):

Saturday

ESPN (11-8), ESPN2 (8-10)

NFLN (11-11)

Sunday

ESPN (11-6)

NFLN (Noon-7pm)
