It is only possible to know with certainty 14 of a team's 16 games each year. The final two games are determined by ranking within a team's division. IIRC, a team will play its counterpart in two other divisions based on order of finish. For example, AFC East champ will play the AFC West champ while the #3 team in the AFC East would play the #3 team in the AFC West. That's just an example, but there is some method to the madness for scheduling that varies from year to year. The site referenced here lists the corresponding divisions that each team will face in those two variable games.
Check this out:The Buffalo Bills play the AFC North and the NFC East. With the Cowboys coming to Buffalo, the Bills will only travel as far west as Cleveland. (about a two hour drive).
Bengals:Home: Baltimore, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, New England, N.Y. Jets, Arizona, St. Louis, TennesseeAway: Baltimore, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Miami, San Francisco, Seattle, Kansas CityNight and day from this past season. Only 5 playoff teams on there, including KC, NYJ and Seattle - all very beatable. Can't blame us for looking ahead after this miserable year.
The Bengals should do much better next year and they remind me a lot of the Chargers (winning the division, disappointing season with tough schedule the following year).

While the SD/CIN comparison sounds nice, I'm not so sure how accurate it will be . . .SD SCORING DIFFERENTIAL:04 +133 points05 +106 points06 +189 pointsCIN SCORING DIFFERENTIAL05 +71 points06 +42 points07 ???IMO, unless the Bengals improve a lot on defense, I don't see them climbing into the 12-14 win category, even with a lighter schedule (at least on paper).
