2007 Patriots team - 43rd best all time? (1 Viewer)

shining path

:prettyplease:
They made it to the SB, so they're obviously a pretty good team. But on the other hand, they lost to a 5th seed wildcard team from a relatively weak NFC. So how does this Patriots team stack up all time? Top 50? I'd give them a top 50 ranking.

The second half of the year the Patriots looked very mortal. You have to hand it to them for all the close games they have won, but watching their games they hardly looked spectacular.

All I know is that any talk of them being the greatest team ever is now dead. They had a great season, but came up a little short. I have a feeling many will still put them as a top 20 all-time team.

Once teams knew to change their signals even more than normal the Pats started progressively losing their dominance. As their cheating dossiers got staler and staler they sank more and more until they were back with the pack.

JAX and SD both had shots of beating them and the Giants although a special team would not have beaten most SB winners of all-time. 43rd best sounds right.

The Packers team that lost to Denver in the Super Bowl was good too. Just goes to show that an impressive record during the regular season is nice, but if you can't close the deal all is lost.

Rams that lost to these Patriots had a really good team. Should be interesting what Congress finds out how bad the Patriots cheated that year.
