2007: The Year of the WR? (1 Viewer)

If you compare the top WRs with the top RBs you notice something odd. The WRs are putting up big points while the RBs are really struggling. Will this trend continue or is it an odd abberation? What is the impact?

WRs (by preseason rankings) and their standard scoring fantasy points

1. Steve Smith-- 51

2. CJ-- 48

3. TO-- 36

4. Harrison-- 23

5. Wayne -- 31

6. Roy Williams-- 27

7. Holt-- 27

8. Lee Evans-- yikes!

9. Andre Johnson-- 45

10. Fitz-- 10

11. Driver-- 20

12. TJ--30

13. Plax-- 41

14. Javon Walker-- 21

15. Colston-- 17

16. Boldin-- 16

17. Braylon-- 32

18. Ward-- 16

19. Randy Moss-- 46

20. Galloway-- 32

The only real disappointment here is Evans. Fitz needs to be better, but its nothing to panic over. Nearly every other player is performing at or above expectations.

RBs (by preseason rankings) and their standard scoring fantasy points

1. LT-- 24

2. SJax-- 11

3. LJ-- 17

4. Gore-- 34

5. Addai-- 35

6. Alexander-- 31

7. Parker-- 28

8. Westrook-- 13 **** only played 1 game

9. Bush-- 11

10. Rudi-- 24

11. Maroney-- 14

12. McGahee-- 27

13. Henry-- 31

14. Brown-- 14

15. Edge-- 38

16. Jones-Drew 8

17. Jacobs-- HURT

18. Benson-- 14

19. TJones-- 13

20. Deuce-- 8

I'd say Gore, Addai, Alexander, Parker, Rudi, McGahee, Henry and Edge are the only backs to perform at or above expecations. Thats only 6 of the top 20 backs compared to 18 of the top 20 WRs.

Break it down even further. LJ is the 10th best RB among those listed with 17 points. Only 4 WRs have scored less then LJ (and Boldin/Ward are only 1 point short).

What is going on???
