After watching them through their first 2 series I am thinking this team is going to be a threat all year. I know they lost 2/3 to NY but both losses were close and they could easily have gone the other way. I know they took advantage of Boston being tired, but they really dominated that series, both pitching and hitting. The only Red Sock to look good was Drew.

I think the Jays have the best starting pitching in the AL and if BJ Ryan comes back healthy soon they may have the best bullpen.

Add Rolen (in about 3 weeks) and Eckstein playing all out every day and the chemistry should improve. They have been criticized for playing soft against the lesser teams.

Anybody else ready to jump on the Jays bandwagon early?

Ive said it a few times. Health is the only factor stopping them from winning the East. They have the best rotation in the AL and a deeper pen than the Sox & Yanks. Sure Accardo & Ryan may not be as dominant as Okajima/Papelbon or Chamberlain/Rivera but they are pretty damn good. Plus their lineup has enough oomph to score some runs in Rios, Wells, Thomas, & Hill. Their biggest weakness is some holes in their lineup at C, SS, & LF. Otherwise they have to hope Burnett, Ryan, McGowan, Rolen, & Wells stay healthy which is a VERY iffy.

They have to stay completely healthy and have a number of these guys have career years. I am a Jays fan, and watched the Frank Thomas grand salami in person yesterday, so I love the optimism, but neither of these are realistic - especially the health over a 162 game sched.

I think there is almost no chance all those guys stay healthy this year. And with their poor depth that will be enough for the Yanks or Sox to win the division.
