2008 MLB Free Agents

Presenting...your 2008 free agent class.

Of course, some of these players will be signed or retired before reaching free agency. I've changed the post to categorize them by position; the player's 2008 age is in parentheses. If I saw someone as a possibility at more than one position I put them at both.

Jorge Julio (29) - Type B....wrong this guy sucks and is a type F.

Josh Fogg decleared for FA so add his name to starting pitchers that are FA's.

If you want to spend some cash, you can get a stud 3B or CF. Otherwise, there isn't a whole lot out there. I predict a lot more trades this offseason.

Linebrink might be the best arm out there in the bullpen, but not worth losing a first round pick for.
You don't lose it, baseball awards one to whatever team loses the player.
I think that's true if you're in the top 15, but if you're 16-30, I think you lose you're first round pick if you sign a Type A FA.
If you are top 15, you lose your next highest pick.Teams also receive a supplemental between round 1 and 2 if they lose a type A.
