Under NFL scheduling, when one team wins that means another team loses.... thus at the end of 17 weeks (16 games played with bye weeks factored in) there must be 256 wins and 256 losses. You can distribute those 256 wins and losses however you see the season playing out but in the end mathematically the total wins have to be 256 and total losses have to be 256.XSince were being picky ties can happen lowering those totals. Not to be picky but ... The jags will be good this season, but just because Porter will be your #1wr doesn't mean he is a true #1. He would be the #2 guy on most nfl teams. IMO he will be your #2 becuase I see a good year from R. Williams.2. jaguars 11-5 - they will be good, no great this season
And what is your reasoning behind this? We added a true WR1 Jerry Porter and filled our need for DEs in the draft. We have a 2-RB punch in Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew. You have Jamal Lewis and a bunch of duds behind him. You have an overrated QB in Derek Anderson whose quarterback rating was among the lowest in the league the last few weeks of the season. We have a QB on the rise in David Garrard who threw only 3 INTS and had no true WR1.
I can't wait to bring back this thread during week 8. The Jaguars will win by AT LEAST 2 TDS. Donte Stallworth will have probably pulled a hamstring by then, and Braylon Edwards and Winslow will be SHUT DOWN by Rashean Mathis, Brian Williams, Drayton Florence, and Reggie Nelson.

He'll be our first 1,000 receiver since Jimmy Smith. He's good for that and 8TDs. Reggie Williams will get his grabs too, but he won't break 1,000 yds. We all know how you feel being a fan, and we all picked the same percentage you did of possible wins with our own teams, but you should at least be a little realistic. D. Anderson is not going to win YOU possibly 15 wins. Not in this league and not when their defense isnt as good as... well, you know a lot of teams. Anybody can grasp at straws when hoping theres an 80% chance of winning. If I said I thought the Browns had an 80% chance of losing 15 games, would that be fair?Brownsfan07 said:did you read my post?italic bold = possible winFallerjw said:This is really hard to read.Brownsfan07 said:the one's in bold are assured wins.the one's with italics are possible wns depending on what happens.Frenchy Fuqua said:Please find me 10 wins on the Browns schedule.

Porter is in no way a "true" #1 WR.-His first 4 seasons, he was an WR3 to Jerry Rice and Tim Brown with Rich Gannon throwing. No chance to get 1,000 yards as a WR3.- 04 was the Kerry Collins experiment. He did all right his first year (4000 yds but 21td/20ints) but the raiders had no running game that year to open up the passing game (Amos Zereoue = leading rusher that year? wtf) his other close season to 1,000 yards came when during Randy Moss's first year in Oakland.FYI Porter has never broke 1,000 yds in his 8 seasons in the league. He's only had over 900 yds twice in his career. Now he might break 1,000, but his odds are not good with the run first Jags. He'll be our first 1,000 receiver since Jimmy Smith. Kentwan Balmer...Im sorry Brownsfan, who did you say was on your Browns defense? I guarantee our defense will blowout your defense in ALL of the big stats. Your D is sorry. You dont know how wrong you are and anyone else who says SF doesnt have a defense. I wish we played you guys this year. We would shut your team down with our front SEVEN.J-Rock said:I noticed you joined yesterday but I wasn't aware you were born yesterday. It's tough to find much I actually agree with in your post. Here are a few of the lowlites:- Chad Henne might start a handful of games late in the season. Certainly not enough to throw 13 td's & 21 ints.- The Ravens D will win them 5 games in the AFC (brutal schedule) but the bears D will only win them 1 game against the likes of Min, GB, Det x2 and Hou, Stl, Atl, Car. The bears Defense could play both ways against that schedule and win more than 1 game.- The Titans went 10 - 6 last year. I don't see anything in their off season moves or 08 schedule to make me believe they got worse by 4 wins. They may not make the playoffs in the ultra competitive AFC but they are at least a .500 team.- The Rams 7 - 9? Chris Long is going to have to make a hell of a lot of plays. They made virtually no impact moves this offseason. - Clearly you are high on the Eagles. Good off season moves, Samuel will help their weak pass D but not enough to give them 13 wins. Especially in the NFC East. I hate Dallas with a passion but I have no reason to believe they end up as a sub .500 team. The Skins had "no true QB" last season and managed to win 9 games. Campbell will only get better with last years expereince.- Brief comment on your analysis on my team, The 49ers may not be a playoff contender this season but with the minor upgrades at WR and the added experience of last year's 1st round picks (Willis & Staley) I would expect improvement. Smith is no pro bowl QB but you don't cut the guy after 3 seasons. Nolan is doing the right thing. Expect to see moderate improvements over last season. I'd predict a 7-9 season.
I cant wait to bring it back up too. Hes hoping for his QB to do it all apparantly. I agree with everything you said2. jaguars 11-5 - they will be good, no great this season

He did not sit behind Brown and Rice his first four seasons. 2004 and 2005 seasons Rice and Brown were gone and Porter was #1 wr with Collins throwing for 3495 & 3759 respectively and he still could not break 1,000 yards in a season. While I believe that Garrad might be a better NFL qb then Collins, he will not approach Collins passing yds. Jags will not be throwing the football enough and Porter is not really a wr 1. - 06 Moss decides to not give a $h@t, then tanks the season. During that time he has stud QBs like McCown, Tuiasosopo, Andrew Walter, and Aaron Brooks throwing to him.
-07 is a wash. He didn't play half of the season.
Jerry Porter WILL get 1,000 yards. Write it down now. He has the best QB throwing to him since Rich Gannon and a much greater running game that should open up a lot of single coverage.
It's not like I'm predicting he gets 1,500 yards receving, 100 recs, and 20 tds lol. My expectations aren't much.

You need to take the Homer glasses off and realize that Porter is just not that good and he is not going become something else in his 9th season.-His first 4 seasons, he was an WR3 to Jerry Rice and Tim Brown with Rich Gannon throwing. He's good for that and 8TDs. Reggie Williams will get his grabs too, but he won't break 1,000 yds. We don't need him too though since we're a run-first team. The jags will be good this season, but just because Porter will be your #1wr doesn't mean he is a true #1. He would be the #2 guy on most nfl teams. IMO he will be your #2 becuase I see a good year from R. Williams.2. jaguars 11-5 - they will be good, no great this season
ick
The Browns could go in 13-3?NO way you finish ahead of pittsburgh with all of those primetime games.
I would bet good money on the under. He was drafted in 2000. So yeah his first 4 SEASONS, he played w/ rice and brown on the same team. he was a WR3. I also said Garrard is his best QB since GANNON, not Collins. Again, you think I'm projecting ridiculous numbers when I'm really not. Whether or not he is a true WR1 is debatable but he will get 1,000 yards receiving. He did not sit behind Brown and Rice his first four seasons. 2004 and 2005 seasons Rice and Brown were gone and Porter was #1 wr with Collins throwing for 3495 & 3759 respectively and he still could not break 1,000 yards in a season. I actually thought Porter was the worst free agent signing of the year so far. The Jags paid way too much money for a headcase who has done very little to this point in his NFL career.Brownsfan07 said:2 Sun, Sep 14 Pittsburgh 8:15 PM the one's in bold are assured wins.Frenchy Fuqua said:Please find me 10 wins on the Browns schedule.

Here I am again backing the Frownshere's who I think...@ cinnygbalden@ bufhoucin7-9 seems more likely. No way these guys go 10-6... much less 13-3
ButYou think they will beat the defending Super Bowl Champs and Denver, but don't think that their is even a chance that they can win 3 of their other games?
Denver is overrated. They finished 7-9 last year... Other teams that finished 7-9 (Chicago, Detroit, Buffalo, Cinci). They are a mid-teir team... and they lost Walker this offseason (not that he helped much anyways), and their #1 WR ruptured an artery in his arm and is out for a while yet (can't exercise... let me tell you, detraining effects start after 2 weeks of sedentary lifestyle. Tough to get in "football shape" in a month before the season starts... especially since it takes 6 weeks to start to gain muscle mass when lifting, and 1 week to start losing it). I don't think DEN will be much better than MAYBE a 9-7 teamNYG are the Super Bowl champs, yes, but I would hesitate before putting them in the category of a NE, IND, etc. They won the superbowl by getting hot for 4 games. Do you think they will stay hot for 16 more? I don't. I see a 9-7 or 8-8 season from them this year... especially considering how much better the rest of the teams in their division have gotten this offseason. So yes, I do think they will beat those two. I see CLE an equal team to that of Denver. I think they are a mid-tier team with potential. One week they will show ability to be a 10+ winning team, and the next they'll show to be a below .500 team. They aren't ready to be a division winner or even a superbowl contending team. So no, I don't think they can beat 3 other teams on their schedule. Here I am again backing the Frownshere's who I think...@ cinnygbalden@ bufhoucin7-9 seems more likely.
