2008 schedule (1 Viewer)

How did the Browns get three Monday Night games and five total in prime time?
I wonder if the NFL has ever considered giving each team 1 home game in primetime. There are typically 16 Sunday night games and 16 Monday night games (none week 17), so it makes sense to me that each of the 32 teams should get one home primetime game. If they want to see DAL or NE 5 times in primetime, fine, give them 4 road games to go with the one the host. Everyone always talks about how these games generate revenue for the host cities, doesn't it make sense to share that evenly?
I like it. Don't forget Thanksgiving adds 3 home games.

Nothing personal, but this may be the worst idea I have ever heard. Who wants to see a Patriots at Dolphins shelacking on Monday night?? Sure, it could turn out to be a good game, but who would tune in?? And imagine the uprising if a good team would get 4 away primetime games. It's all about money and ratings, and high-profile teams and good matchups bring out the viewers. End of story. If teams don't like this, play better and earn the games.

No offense taken, and I agree, play better the previous year and you will get these games.Let's say each of these was a good rivalry game, I would bet there would be plenty of interest. I don't care how bad a team is, NYJ @ MIA is always going to be a popular game, plus 2 huge markets, etc. There are also the Thursday night games that could give the "big" name teams an extra home primetime game.

I do agree completely, these all would be good for the respective cities, fans, and even NFL fans in general, who get sick of seeing the Pats week after week after week. I guess I am just speaking from the minds of the NFL and networks, who don't really care about giving cities and their teams exposure. So it's not a bad idea, I'll backpedal LHUCKS style on that statement, I guess I just mean it will probably never happen, as long as we have American currency in circulation.Honestly, even being a diehard NFL and FF fan, I was 2 seconds from not even turning on the Dallas at Buffalo game last year. Only a text from a diehard Bills fan/friend of mine in ALL CAPS about the game got me to turn it on. And this was on a Monday night with nothing going on. There might have been playoff baseball, I don't recall. My point is that while a great idea for fans, the almighty $$$ will always win out. Not breaking news there.

I know it isn't the Pats fault, but this is simply laughable.
:football: Aside from playing in Indy, and MAYBE the Steelers, this smells of another 18-1 season.
Only 4 teams with winning records and 1 team that was .500 last year. What a joke of a schedule.

I get what you're trying to say here. But on the other hand, do you think you can tell us all today how the standings are going to look next season? Did anyone think Cleveland would be any good last year? Furthermore, no one said Miami had to host NE as they have 7 other home games to choose from based on the scenario by bshipper.

Steelers 2008 schedule announcedTuesday, April 15, 2008By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-GazetteNot only do the Steelers have the toughest schedule in the league, the NFL issued them one in which they won't have the chance to feel comfortable with any one kickoff time. The Steelers play at night in three of their first five games and have only two scheduled 1 p.m. kickoffs in their first 13 games in 2008.Their schedule, released by the NFL this afternoon, contains the maximum of five night games -- two on Sunday, two on Monday and one Thursday. The Steelers open at Heinz Field Sept. 7 against the Houston Texans and then go right into the teeth of their AFC North Division competition at Cleveland Sept. 14, an 8:15 p.m. start. How did the Eagles get so many prime time games again? They've been a mediocre team for 2 years in a row now. I think the NFL really needs to re-consider how they're picking these games. I understand that certain teams just draw more viewers, but I wonder if they've ever considered that they also lose viewers when the same teams are on all the time.

what a tough draw for the afc north

they play the best afc division ( south, indy-jax-ten-hou)

and also get the best nfc division ( east, dal-phil-nyg-wash)

i dont think a wildcard will be comming from the afc north

Patriots with not one, but two back-to-back west coast games: SF/SD on 10/5 & 10/12, then Sea/Oak on 12/7 & 12/14. Wonder if they'll stay on the west coast between games.
