2009 Roster Help Needed (1 Viewer)

Sorry up front for the length of the post. I took over a team in a 6x6, 16 team league last year. Had decent offensive players and I was able to add a few more as FA's through the season.

The pitching is pretty weak and since teams can protect their entire roster of 25 players, good starting pitching is especially hard to find. I ended up in the Top 4 last year but first place was far away.

Since this is my second year and I have yet to pull off a trade in this league I wanted to see what folks thought of trying to move some of my position players for pitching. What could I reasonably expect for someone like Manny or Jermaine Dye?

Are there any under the radar starting pitchers that I might be able to target in trades or as free agents?

Any assistance that could be provided would be much appreciated.

Jermaine Dye is annually under valued, I wouldn't bother dangling him out there, you probably won't get fair value.

Wait for Manny to sign somewhere, his value should go up once others know where he'll play.

I would dangle Brian Roberts out there on the trade market, I think the Cano owner would be a good target. If you aren't able to acquire another 2B for him no big deal Casilla should be adequate and you can upgrade another position.

Thanks MAC 32, this the sort of info/advice I was hoping for. My plan was to stockpile (as much as you can in a 16 team) league young guys that could start to replace some of my older starters. I would be happy to move Manny and/or Roberts but I am not really sure how to value them in terms of what to ask for in return. I would be mostly interested in pitching but I have a very hard time comparing pitchers and hitters.

Any thoughts or adivce?
