The record for having a player with 20+ HR and 70+ RBI in a season is 7 set by the Baltimore Orioles in 1996... The players were Cal Ripken, Rafael Palmeiro, Bobby Bonilla, Roberto Alomar, Brady Anderson, B.J. Surhoff and Chris Hoiles...

Currently the Yankees have 7 players with at least 20 HR and 70 RBI... They are...

Mark Teixeira (32-101)

Alex Rodriguez (24-77)

Johnny Damon (24-75)

Hideki Matsui (23-74)

Nick Swisher (23-72)

Robinson Cano (22-74)

Jorge Posada (20-70)

Derek Jeter is closing in on these marks and if he can reach 20-70, the 2009 Yankees will become the first team to have 8 players with at least 20 HR and 70 RBI in a season...

As of September 3rd, Jeter has...

17 HR

61 RBI

Sure, a launching pad of a park plus a near unlimited budget to afford multiple MVP types - hell, one at 3B, SS, 1B, C (not this year though still, obviously, a very solid C season), closer and SP.

I mean, you would have to be the Mets to #### that situation up (and even they couldnt screw it up totally).

Mets should bring the walls in and pray every night that Santana stays healthy.

Santana is a flyball pitcher. So are Ollie Perez and John Maine. The only area that they might need to address is the right field power alley, they should keep everything else the same.
