2011 Pro Bowl rosters (1 Viewer)

Eli over Stafford and Romo???
Stafford ... You have an argument. Romo you lost credibility ... Eli by default!
A clear argument: better QB rating, better completion %, more TDs, less INTs, more wins and led 6 comebacks from down 13+ points this season.
:goodposting:Not to mention playing with broken ribs and a collapsed lung. The guy brought it this season. IMO an easy choice over Eli. Nothing against Eli, who is having a great season too, but Romo's season has been significantly better. It's a shame, the disparity in good/great QB's between the AFC and NFC. After Brady, I think you could argue that (of those NFC QB's who didn't make it), Cam, Stafford, Romo, and Ryan are all better than the other AFC QB's who made it.

The fact that more people aren't outraged about the Fletcher snub outrages me.Although, I probably wouldn't watch Skins games if I wasn't a fan, so I can't blame most people for not knowig how incredible he is.
I agree, the Fletcher snub is outrageous. The guy defies logic, still playing at such a high level at 36 years old. This guy may well still be gaming at 40. He has had a phenomenal and amazingly consistent career, and he is having arguably his best season ever at the age of 36. Amazing.

Just when I thought London was starting to get some respect for his unheralded HOF career.
:lmao:
Compare his numbers to Ray Lewis, an unquestioned first-ballot HOF'er. Do that, then kindly admit that you have no idea what you're talking about.

If Fletcher is not eventually inducted into the HOF, it will be because of a lack of arbitrary popularity contest votes such as this Pro Bowl roster. Not because of what he has personally accomplished.
Lewis:221 Games, 1997 Tackles (1518 solo), 40.5 sacks, 101.5 stuffs, 31 INT for 503 Yards, 115 PD, 18 FF, 19 FR, 3 TD, 1 Safety

Fletcher:

223 Games, 1803 Tackles (1254 Solo), 35 sacks, 55 stuffs, 18 INT for 139 Yards, 83 PD, 18 FF, 12 FR, 3 TD, 0 Safety

That Stuffs, INT, and PD difference is pretty large. Throw in more sacks, tackles (solos), and FR and this isn't much of a contest.

I agree Fletcher should probably be a 5-6 time Pro Bowler but saying he is close to Lewis is a bit of a stretch.
I don't think the OP was suggesting that Fletcher has been better than Lewis, but rather that Fletcher's career numbers are comparable to a man widely considered to be not only one of, if not the best, to ever play his position, but arguably one of the best players, at any position, in the history of the league.Fletcher has been amazingly under-appreciated his entire career. It's a shame. It really is

I dont see how London Fletcher is a clear snub over Patrick Willis. Willis' stats are better pretty much across the board except for tackles which is a bad stat to base this on anyway. Couple this with the fact that you know the 49er D is on the field a hell of a lot less than the Washington D, and it's clear who should get the nod.
I don't think many are saying he should have made it over Willis, at least I am not. Willis is the best LB in the NFL and has been since he entered the league. But their numbers prior to Willis' injury were comparable. No, I think the real injustice is that he was passed over for Urlacher.

I seriously did a double take when I heard Urlacher got the 2nd spot. I though Fletcher would get the spot and if not him maybe Bowman.

It should have been Qwell Jackson and Fletcher.
I am sure being on the 30th ranked run defense (Jackson) didn't help his chances. The Ravens ran on them for 290 yards in the first meeting. The Browns have also faced 498 carries this season which helped Jackson post his tackle totals.

I was checking out some Pro Bowl stuff while at work, and noticed that Jermaine Gresham (with his 600 receiving yards and 6 TDs) got the Pro Bowl berth given up by Gronkowski. How does one see the list of alternates? I would imagine that Hernandez is the way more deserving player (900 yards receiving and 7 TDs) based on his numbers and his play. Someone have that?

Gronkowski said in a conference call before the week 17 Buffalo game that Hernandez was the first alternate. The truth to that is unknown but this alternate list is pretty hidden.

I guess I'm not surprised by it, since the numbers don't look gaudy, but Chris Gamble isn't even an alternate for the NFC. He has been the very definition of a shutdown corner this season, and I think he clearly deserved a spot...even if the voters didn't see it.
Patrick Robinson has similar metrics and probably half the people on this board wouldn't know who the hell he is.Corner is a position where guys usually just get voted in on reputation.
