2012 Bloom Rankings (1 Viewer)

I dont see how Turner and Gore are the 26th and 27th RBs, respectively, next year. I can only hope to get 1 of them in the 3rd or even 4th next year.

I do not see it either. Tier 3 is out of whack. I haev the fourth overall pick, so I have to get one of those 4 Tier One running backs.

Just see these teams starting to move away from these backs as centerpieces, especially Turner. They could easily shoot to the top of tier 3 if their teams appear to approach their use the way they did this year from everything we hear and see in the offseason, but not right. Turner went in the third in tons of PPR leagues this year IIRC and his late season wear down this year + talk of the Falcons using Rodgers more should drive him down even more heading into draft this year.

That makes sense!! I suppose Tampa Bay's next coach could possibly change Blount's value too. He killed me this year.

I don't usually check the weekly subscriber content during the NFL post-season but just saw that Bloom posted early 2012 rankings for QB, RB, WR and TEs.Thanks for that!Just wanted to make sure others saw that in case they, like me, don't check those pages much in the fantasy "off-season".http://subscribers.footballguys.com/2011/11weekP3.php
Are these rankings for dynasty or redraft?

Thanks for the heads-up - I also stop paying much attention to the articles after my season is over.

Players I'm surprised not to see:

Braylon Edwards

Robert Meachem

Deion Branch

Nate Burleson

Tony Moeaki

Cassell/Orton

Not that I think you're wrong, but it's a little jarring to see no Benson, Moreno, or Addai on the list.

Thanks Sig, always appreciated when you guys update rankings.

Looks like you've finally turned on Mathews? Good to see!

I think the next three weeks (hopefully) will have a huge bearing on Alex Smith's 2012 fantasy stock. His confidence could go through the roof were the Niners to win the big one, which could put him up at least a dozens spots from where you have him IMHO.

Lot of water to go under the bridge before that happens, however.

Top stuff

Edwards is going to have work his way from the bottom up wherever he lands. 2007 was a long, long time ago. Remember he just got a 1 yr/1M deal from SF, that should show you where he is in the league's esteem.Meachem is a one-trick pony for the most part and I think being in the NO offense is about the ceiling for his fantasy prospects. I don't expect him to shine if someone decides to make him a starter.Branch is just keeping that WR2 spot warm for any number of more talented players like Brandon Lloyd Burleson did come on for some nice PPR numbers later in the season, but I have to think that his role/involvement will trend downMoeaki can't stay healthyIf KC doesn't keep Orton, perhaps I'll put Cassel in the 21-30 range, but I think we've seen that he's too inconsistent to trust no matter what his season-end numbers look like. Thanks for checking them out!

Mathews upside is undeniable now that he has mostly stayed healthy for a year and produced against tough defenses. I don't know that I'll be buying that ticket in the second round, but I doubt that I'll see him on the board past then.Smith fantasy stock is definitely on the rise, but I can't see him getting higher than 15 or so (ie solid backup fantasy QB) because the 49ers offense will never really run through him in the same way that the offenses of top 10-12 QB run through them.

I like seeing the rankings this early. I don't usually start focusing too much on my drafts until a month or so before, but I like to have things in mind.

I really am much more in tune this year than in seasons past, thanks especially to these forums.

Thanks to the OP!

It would be cool if an email went out when rankings were updated. Not sure if this could be done or not.

I happened to stumble upon the rankings yesterday too...Good food for thought.

Thanks for doing this for us, Sig. It really helps with the off season trading/rookie draft strategies/etc. THIS is why we subscribe.

Keep up the good work.

Great for kicking off keepers considerations, thanks Bloom!

Man, dare I go another year of investing in Britt's potential???

James Starks doesn't make the RB list? Or am I blind?
Maybe he deserves inclusion as next man up in GB, but the Packers lack of commitment to the run and Starks inability to run well between the tackles makes me lukewarm on him after he looked pretty good early this year.

im thinking schaub and roeth are a bit low. steelers are fully committed to throwing a ton and roeth will presumably be healthier next season.

for rbs, seems absurd to put mjd in the same tier as the big 3.

MJD was only 2o points behind McCoy and he is 1 of the few rb work horses who is not in a RBBC, leading the league in rushing and having 8 rushing touchdowns and 3 receiving touch downs does not hurt either. But I can see what you are saying to a certain extent, because I have the fourth overall pick next year and if I cant get one of the big three, I am leaning towards taking Calvin Johnson over MJD. But the wide receiver class is SO deep, I may just grab MJD. The rb class seems a little slim

I don't know if the combination of Bradshaw's feet and the Giant's line will allow him to have a great season. He runs on the outside of his feet and it seems that his bones can't handle the stress. He really needs to be on a pitch count for training camp and preseason. Let the other backs get extra reps during camp.

Jacobs might be gone, he restructured but will it lower his cap number enough for him to stay? He thinks he's better than he is and the line makes him look worse.

I'd love to see the Giants sign TE Fred Davis from the Redskins.

If Fred Davis goes to play with Giants, that would change my whole view on when I would draft a tight end. Eli would increase his value SO much :goodposting:

20 points is a lot. certainly enough to create a tier.

if i have the 4th, i'm snapping rodgers
Seriously?! thats less than 1.5 PPG difference. If its a proven guy on top, and a possible '1yr wonder'on the bottom end, then I could see tiering. But MJD is a stud who just made a statement when people questioned his knee.Would I take Foster, McCoy, Rice over him? Yes, do I drop him a tier from them? Well, maybe, but that doesnt mean I draft a QB or WR over him.

I like Davis' talent, but being in NYG's offense would limit his upside. He was huge in WAS because they had nobody but Santana and he was hurt for half the year.Id bump Eli more than Davis.

QB is just that deep. Perhaps Schaub should be at the bottom of tier 2 instead of top of tier 3, but Texans will stay run heavy.MJD led the league in rushing with the worst starting QB in the league and no WRs- he also wasn't used nearly enough as a receiver until the second half of the year - good enough to be in the elite tier imo
