2012 College Baseball tournament (1 Viewer)

Bentley couldn't start the thread this year since Texas somehow didn't make the tournament. Should be a lot of exciting track and field to talk about on the Longhorn network this summer.

A few #1 seeds lost yesterday. Miami got crushed by some school I never heard of.

Usually a pretty interesting tournament.

Hoos win their first one 9-1.

Im watching the Clemson/USC game and saw a weird play. Clemson had bases loaded no outs and the batter grounds to SS. They turn the DP as the guy from 3rd scores. They called interference on the runner sliding into 2nd and make the runner that scored return to 3rd. The announcers say it was the correct call, but I dont see why the runner that scored should return to 3rd, since the interference caused no problems, they still turned the DP.

Gator Jonathan Crawford no-hit Bethune Cookman Friday.

SC came back to tie Clemson in the 9th and beat them in extra innings yesterday. I watched a lot of this one and it was a really good game.

Didn't see that play Hoos, but I assume it's just by rule that runners have to return rather than having umps make decisions about who should be allowed to advance.

Where is Stony Brook from? ETA: New York near Manhattan.

Surprised MS State's ace did not win, the guy gave LSU fits this season.

4 SEC schools in the super, possibly 2 more tonight. I guess we'll hear the S-E-C chants at the CWS now.

Wow. Stony Brook's 3B just airmailed what would have been the last out of the game v LSU.

We'll see if LSU can capitalize.

The ESPN analyst is complaining about the LSU pitcher being used in relief and then starting the next game 40 minutes later. That's nothing compared to how college arms used to get abused. LSU certainly doesn't owe the Orioles anything.

Keith Law? I like him but he's a bit of a #### whiner.

Even though it probably favors Florida, I'm really annoyed that rain is going to screw up the pitcher's duel that had started between Carlos Rodon and Jonathan Crawford

On one hand, I understand managers wanting to win. That's their job. On the other hand overworking a young arm who has a future as a pro to win the equivalent of the local single A championship??

It is in college baseballs best interest to be pro career friendly. As it is most of the top prospects think college baseball is a waste of time.

The Sooners went to Columbia and all they got was one lousy run. That might be worse than Stanford giving up a million.

Florida's reward for being the #1 ranked team? A CWS opening match up against the two-time defending champions.

CWS starts and we get crappy weather - horrible storms last night, so at last I don't burn a vacation day to watch baseball. Sunday through Wednesday look good and then Thursday Friday dicey again. Gonna be a wet field for the start of the CWS. Locals pulling for Stony Brook. Have seen several Geaux Seawolves signs.

Will there be games tonight? Kind of planned my evening around watching the FSU game.
The start time is supposed to be 4:00 for Game 1 - but right now it is drizzling. That field can take water. From the looks of the current and forecasted radar - the bulk of the t-storms should be gone by around 2:00 with isolated storms in the area My guess is they will play the games tonight but start times may be pushed. Right now it looks ugly out - but 3 hours from now it may start to clear.

I can't imagine that LSU fans are feeling too great after seeing the thrashing that Stony Brook took this weekend.

Whole lotta locals snatched up a bunch of Stony Brook gear to show support for the underdog. I imagine local Goodwills will be brimming with Stony Brook gear in the next few weeks days hours minutes.

Man Florida just got it from behind with no lube from the home plate ump. 3-1 pitch that would've walked home the tying run was like a foot and a half outside.

Which is awesome.

Noles load the bases twice in the first two to end up with only 2 runs.

Pretty sure that's going to cost them.

He was squeezing the KSU pitcher before that but didn't want to call a ball to walk in the tying run. Terrible umping, but I'm not sure UF really got screwed when you look at the whole inning. Pretty disastrous to go out like that as the #1 seed. UF was in the final series last year so the stage shouldn't have been too big for them.

Tough break for whomever wins the first game today, having to play again tonight.

Why not just push everything back a day?

Because the finals are already scheduled (and it took a couple of extra games this round)BUT the good news is triple header of college baseball games on ESPN2/U throughout the day
