2012 draft rankings (1 Viewer)

Tick

Footballguy
When preparing for dynasty rookie drafts, I like to take a look at a lot of other people's rankings. I put some weights on them based on my confidence in the source and put together a weighted average. That's not my final rankings, but it's a good starting point.

Link some rankings and tell us what you think of any others on the list.

I'll maintain the top post in here with links to rankings.

Nice overview:

Thank you for this thread guys.

I need to get up to speed soon to insert rookies (pre-draft) into my dynasty rankings, and having these resources handy in one place is great.

I've always found the RB Speed Score interesting. Here are the guys that scored over 100:

Lamar Miller 113.12

Robert Turbin 108.28

Bernard Pierce 107.27

Doug Martin 104.06

Cyrus Gray 103.19

Ronnie Hillman 102.01

David Wilson 101.37

Terrence Gannaway 100.50

Davin Meggett 100.21

The top two scores out of the QB, RB & WR groups belonged to RGIII (117.92) and Stephen Hill (118.99)

All the other scores can be seen here:

Surprisingly few of these rankings have been updated since the combine, and those that were mainly moved a few guys around without a full re-ranking.

Bump to ask for more rankings and any opinions on the sites... I still haven't seen any rankings from UniversalDraft or TheSportingNews - if anyone is able to find them on those sites, let me know.

I know there are the FBG staff rankings, but they're pretty sparse until after the draft. There's also DynastyLeagueFootball, but their rankings don't go very deep within the positions - RB12 and WR15. Maybe they'll do rookies by position after the draft.

So... here are my mostly arbitrary weights on the rankings from these websites... I still hope to get some feedback on how people value each of these sites. My weights are based on some fluid combination of how often the site is updated, the professional look of the site, the reputation of the draftnik if known, the depth of the rankings, the depth of writeups, the font color? Whatever gave me an overall impression of the site and rankings, basically.

I might drop the DynastyLeagueFootball weights a bit more - I sense some groupthink over there and feel like I'm really giving one set of rankings a 2.4 weight.

Don't understand how DFL is the only place where 3/4 say Luck is the 1.01 as there is hardly any format where that makes sense. Not a knock on Luck but the value of the position. They should know better.

If you want Luck or RG3 then trade back. TRich is much more valuable overall and startup Mocks show how big the margin really is.

You are missing out on a pretty good resource by not including the work of Ryan McCrystal and Mike Band over at DraftAce.com.

New Era has pretty good info also.

I got a lot of good resources by checking out the top sites on the Top 100 at thehuddlereport.com.

Here are all my Rookie Rankings (Pre-Draft), I have updated over the past week. I even have IDP Top 50...http://www.365fantasyfootball.com/p/rookie-rankings.html

Thanks, I'll add them to the list.

Dane Brugler offered up his draft guide for free if you tweeted him your email address @dpbrugler

It's better than I was expecting - an interesting read.

i love google docs

for some reason i'm getting an error on all the google docs links in this thread ... "We're sorry, this document is not published"

is it because google switched to google drive and the links are broken?

or am i missing something?

The issue is probably dealing with some sort of permissions issue since the recent re-branding from Docs to Drive. To publish the document, you have to open it in Google Docs/Drive, click File > Publish to the Web... Then select how you want it published. It'll generate a unique URL (or embeddable HTML if you choose that option) that you can post. If it's a PDF you're trying to publish, you'll probably need to reformat it as a Google Doc and then do the same thing.Hope this helps!
