2013 NFL Draft Prediction Thread (1 Viewer)

If you were to make one prediction on the NFL draft this year, what would it be. The more specific and the more 'on a limb', the better. Not sure my prediction is so out on a limb but...

Prediction:

Bears will trade down several spots with the Atlanta Falcons in order to get an additional third rounder. Atlanta, afraid he won't make it to them at 30, leapfrogs Green Bay to get their TE of the future, Tyler Eifert of Notre Dame.

With so many teams looking to tradedown , teams looking to move up will be able to at bargain prices.

My out on a limb prediction : zero QBs & RBs taken in the 1st round

No RBS in round 1.

The Jets draft two defensive players with their first two picks and neither fits the scheme, more incompetence by the J E T S

Giants move up to draft Eifert, well ahead of GB and Atl..

Jets draft Geno Smith at #13.

Niners draft Lacy

Not a bold prediction, but these teams will draft at least one WR in the top 100 picks:

Rams

Steelers

Raiders

Ravens

Texans

Chargers, Jets, Packers, Browns, Bills, Redskins, Vikings, and Panthers are also strong candidates to draft a WR high.

4 QB's get taken in 1st round (Geno, Nassib, Manuel and Barkley)
You stole my thunder Hank. No matter how weak the QB class is, they get over drafted. I can see a few teams in the top end of the 2nd round trading back up into the bottom 3rd of the 1st to grab one.

No RBs is a lock. The no QBs pick is unlikely due to the Jags sitting there ready to pluck Nassib at 33 even if every other QB was still on the board.

Otherwise the Bills would be delighted to wait until Round 2.

Plus, you just know the Pats are going to trade out of the 1st and let someone jump the gun on a QB late.

My thoughts:

1) QBs will fall to mid-late 1st round and then start getting snapped up

2) EJ Manuel will be the best QB of the draft after the first year (not sure long-term)

3) Three OTs will be taken in the first 5 picks

4) The Jets trade the 13th overall pick to net more picks - will they drop completely out of the 1st round with this one? Nah, I can see them being in the mid-late 20's and picking up some good picks

5) At least three teams will trade back into the 1st round as talent falls

6) Te'o will be nabbed by the Vikings with one of their two picks in the 1st round - likely the second

7) Someone will trade up to the early teens to nab Tavon Austin. Possibly the 13th pick of the Jets

8) The four QBs I predict taken in the 1st round - Geno Smith, EJ Manuel, Ryan Nassib, and Matt Barkley

9) At least 5 CBs will be taken in the 1st round

10) Safety might be the strongest position in the draft - the team that nabs Vaccaro will be very happy with him (too bad he will be taken in the top 15, because I'd love to see my Lions trade back into the 1st to get him, too)

Let's see how bad I am at this.... :D

Eric Fisher goes #1 overall if Chiefs keep the pick.....If traded, the target is likely Dee Milliner (Jets?)

Steelers surprise draftniks and grab Teo at #17

Eddie Lacy gives Bengals the RB they need at #21

No QBs in round 1, but Smith, Manuel, Barkley and Nassib all go in the first 15 picks in round 2.

My how things move fast in the NFL..... A few years ago you could have been commited for saying that, but this year it is quite plausible........

STL trades up to 15 from 22. Selects Austin and Vaccaro. Saints get more picks in later rounds for defensive depth. At #22 they select best defensive player on their board available. Jarvis Jones, Ogletree, DT.

The late buzz of Geno Smith dropping down, and being the 2nd/3rd QB off the board, is merely predraft buzz. He goes top 10 and wins OROTY.

2 QBs in the 1st

No RBs taken in the 1st

Manti Te'o to the Bears at #20

Green Bay trades back out of round 1

Two, yes 2 guards go in the top 10

And for the heck of it I predict some forward thinking team set to pick anywhere from 21-32 trades its first rounder for a 2nd and a 2014 1st rounder with the idea of that pick turning into a high 1st next year and gasp, maybe even 1st overall. (Jadeveon Clowney) The team willing to pay that price would be a team trying to jump on front of Jax #33 in order to get their QB. This trade would mirror the Brady Quinn, Clev-Dal trade of 2007. Remember, 1st rounders get 5-year deals as opposed to 4 year deals in the 2nd so some team in love with one of those QBs has another reason besides getting in front of Jax to do such a deal. I just hope it's GB that is the one that's able to oblige a QB enamored team.

Well now, missed on several, but was close on a couple at least. :D

I predicted 5 CBs in the 1st round, and 4 were taken. But hey, wasn't one of the safeties a former CB?!

The QBs was way off. But then again, I think almost everyone was. I was high on EJ, but didn't see that coming. I still think he might end up as the best QB of this class, but he won't show that in year 1 in Buffalo. He'll likely

sit and allow Kolb to take a beating for a year or two. Ohhhh well....

I thought for sure the Jets would trade down from 13. I think the commentators kinda thought they should, too, with as many holes as they have on that team. But if they kept the pick, I swore they'd take Eifert. I was wrong there too!

A good bit of trading going around, but nearly all were just moving around the 1st round. Only one traded back into the 1st (Vikings).

I was on the right path with Tavon Austin, but he was snagged a lot earlier than most everyone thought.

Te'o I'm kinda surprised wasn't taken. I thought for sure when the Vikings traded back into the 1st round they were going to take him...

Is it too late to predict that Geno Smith will go home early and decide not to come back at all? Further proving that he is not mentally tough enough to give teams confidence that he can be a leader?

Funny, I heard the exact same thing word for word on TV this morning. Thought it was nonsense then and still do now.

What does going home after day one have to do with not being a leader? Sitting in a green room is not leading anyone, its waiting. Why wait there when you can wait at home without cameras watching your every move.

Its funny that most hold famous people up to standards that they would not hold themselves. Would you be excited to show up for day 2? Would you?
