2013 Official Dallas Cowboys Thread (1 Viewer)

Seriously I can't see a way we win tonight with Baby Carrot as coach. Need to lean on the run game to limit the defensive exposure, and he thinks of running as taking a knee. Rooting for the Boys, but expect a killing. :( Hope I'm wrong but can't see it.

We are going to get embarrassed. The pass defense will, of course, be the undoing.

This is the worst pass defense I've ever seen and I've watched every Cowboys came for the past 24 seasons.

Truth is Dallas played hard tonight. They made mistakes but that team played hard.

I watched the Lions today and that team quit. I am proud of the effort and if they played that hard all season next year with some of our injured players, we'll be back on top of the East. Foles is good but he can choke, i can feel it. That was our game to win but it wasn't meant to be.

Other truth is as much as I don't like Philly, they will get beat up in the playoffs, they are not that good. The NFC is the absolute worst I have ever seen it and Philly needed every minute of the season to win it, I am not fooled by them.

Agreed that this team played their ### off tonight. Really proud of the effort.

But man, why do you put your BU QB in the position Garrett did?

We played an entire season without playing a team who was .500 or better and winning the game. Oh well, better luck next year.

5 rushes in the 3rd Quarter and ZERO in the 4th Quarter.

:lmao:
Haven't seen many Cowboys games until the last month or so - vs. Chicago, GB, and now Philly, never seen a team that runs the ball so well that suddenly just stops giving the ball to the RB. It's baffling.

Everyone outside of the organization sees it, screams it. But it just never changes. The very definition of insanity.

That was certainly true in the earlier games, but they weren't running the ball all that well this game. People are way over-reacting.

Garrett:

Orton handled situation well. As well as he could have. Professional.

Didn't "cut it loose" on throw to Miles.

Missed opportunity, overcame obstacles. Chip Kelly did well. Deserving. We came up short.

Defense did well. Stepped up. Battled. Critical stops.

4th and 1 waggle. Just felt it was right play. DE made big play.

Record 8-8 progress? Certainly so. Have to keep battling. Great opportunity. Didn't get it done. Will learn from this.

Couple plays here and there decided game.

How close are we? Goal is to win division. Very close. Back to work.

Expectations as to remaining coach? Not concerned about that. Focused on game.

Message to team? Proud of group. Belief, will, determination. Battling. Overcoming obstacles.

Keep banging away. Lot of stories of people who were close and broke through.

Dez by himself on 2pt. Ball was down. Was fade call. Many ways to throw it.

Proud to be part of group. Lot of obstacles, adversity. Proud to be a part of them.

Blah blah blah

Garrett sounds like Nuke Laloosh.

We battled hard, gave 100%, and the with the good lord willing we'll do better next year.

It's been a tough year personally. Wife just ended my 13 year marriage. Put up with her #### and the Cowboys ####. Glad all of it's over. 2014 will be better.

Philly 26 pass attempts. Dallas, with a backup, 46 pass attempts.

Yup, sounds about right.
Philly has the #1 rushing offense in the NFL and was winning the entire game. Dallas was running like #### and was trailing the entire game.Yup, sounds about right.
So you abandon the run 100%?

Wait, what?!?
He had 6 carries in the 2nd half for a whopping 8 yards- you think more of that would have won them the game?

Yet 47 attempts by your backup who hasn't played, essentially, in 2 years, is the answer? But the problem isn't tonight, it's every game that this happens. Go back and look at how often Dallas has completely abandoned the running game in the 2nd half. Hell, Dallas was up 23 at the half over GB, and Dallas had 4 rushes in the 2nd half. It's a systemic problem.

Jerry Jones is the problem. Baby Carrot is just a part of the problem, but let there be no doubt, he IS a problem.

As I said in the game thread, it's certainly been inexcusable in earlier games, and I think Garrett sucks for the most part. I just think this game was a different story- the run game wasn't working, the passing game was, and Dallas was trailing the entire time, unlike those other games.

Down 1 point in the 4th? You still run the ball, regardless of how they are doing. It only takes one long run.

People making their arguments lean the way they want regardless of circumstances on FBG?

Yup, sounds about right.

Sorry to hear that, Bankerguy.

If Garrett stays, which I think he will, do not take a leave of absence. You'll be a Dallas fan long after he is gone. He's taken away a division title from us this year, don't let him take away posting here on FBG, which is really an outlet for us all. If we didn't have this forum, I'd have to hire an expensive shrink and I don't want to go and do that!

I am very excited about the way the Eagles played last night, but I still remember last Sunday's game against the Vikings, so anything can happen. I also still remember the end of the 2009 season when the Cowboys probably had their two biggest wins at the death star winning back-to-back games against the Eagles to win the division and then win the wildcard game. I think Foles performs as he has much of the season, and leads the Eagles to a 31-27 win. I attribute that pick as much to the Cowboys ability under Garrett and Romo Orton to find a way to lose a big game as I do to the ability of the Eagles to win a big game.
Fixed. Good luck next year Cowboy fans. If the Cowboy leaders (Romo, Lee) and the defensive line can stay healthy next year, the NFC East should come down to the Eagles/Cowboys again.

This is what we deal with on a weekly basis. Its incredible. I think something snaps in carrot's brain during games. He feels an urge to cover big chunks of yardage or something. Meanwhile you've got a very capable RB in Murray, and an O-line who has recently been run blocking very well. Last night was prolly the worst example of going away from the run, since Orton hasnt played since '11. Isnt that like the blueprint for running the ball to take pressure off your QB?

The thing that pisses me off most, is the team, especially the D, played their hearts out last night, and put the Cowboys in a position to win. I was impressed with Holloman in the middle. Hatcher, Selvie, Hayden played their asses off! Ware still cant get to the QB, but made plays. As a unit, these guys wanted this game.

Orton made some plays. But he was rusty, as you would expect a guy to be who hasnt played since '11. A lot of balls behind receivers. Deep balls off target...........back to the predictable playcalling in the second half. Chuck it around, makes total sense! WHY THE HELL WOULDNT YOU COME OUT AND TAKE CONTROL OF THE LOS?!! POUND THE DAM ROCK!!!

We had those dirty eagles, and their fat little troll of a head coach, dammit!
