2013 Official Dallas Cowboys Thread (1 Viewer)

The ONLY saving grace here is if Williams is available at 31. But that's a huge risk, and they didn't get near the value they should have for that steep of a drop. Niners just spit in our face.

Man, the Rams getting more to move back less from a later spot is so ugly but so Jerry.

So after the Vikes pick ... 8 more till we're up again ... who's the target? Floyd and Williams still have to be in consideration and one should drop if not we'll see.

Here is the story...

Jerry had a deal fall through...likely Atlanta for better value.

Garrett and Ciskowski want BPA and Jerry panics and takes the low value trade.

Garrett and Ciskowski look Pissed off in the war room.

I hate Jerry Jones. Absolutely hate him This had his stupidity written all over it.

How do you pass on Floyd? Worse yet...if you have ANY thoughts of being a winner...trading with SF for the 2nd best safety in the draft making them an even bigger force????? For a 3rd round pick? Seriously????

Friggin horrible. I am so fed up with this kind of stuff. Makes me honestly embarrassed to be a fan of this team. He has completely ruined the Dallas Cowboys name.

Better not be a DAMN ### WR. Seriously. In one of the deepest WR drafts in history???? Does this WR play flippin guard or safety as well??????

Patterson highest player on Cowboys board per a reliable source. This gets uglier by the draft pick.

If this actually goes down like that, I'm changing allegiance to Jacksonville.I can't take this ####, anymore.
I was just discussing this with my brother. It's getting hard to support this team.

At least it wasn't a WR pick. Any ideas on what we may get in the 2nd? Would you want DT Hankins from OSU if he is there?

No. I have no idea. Does it matter? Clearly Jerry is the worst GM in football, so there is no telling what awfulness he has in store.

Mayock likes Frederick but thinks it was a reach as he had a 3rd round grade on him.

What a wasted draft.

Yeah looks that way to me too. Some of the other sites projected him as a top 75 pick or2nd rounder. Even with that generous projection it still looks like a reach.

I dont get it. Honestly.

This guy had a mid 3rd round grade by EVERY expert. No one saw this guy as a 1st rounder. NO ONE. Even the Cowboys.

Frederick and a late 3rd or our choice of Floyd or the many other options available at 18 ... hmm. Elam at 30 and Frederick in the 2nd? Sigh.

I am honestly sick to my stomach.

Seriously. Elam or Reid would have been a STEAL at either pick.

Horrible friggin trade and then an even worse pick. Stupid. Just plain stupid. This team is a friggin joke. Even the Jets did well. We are the friggin laughing stock of the NFL. Seriously.

88 th pick on board I'm looking at. F'in cowboys and Jerry. Can't believe I got excited for this again. May the force be with us. Horrible!

I'm absolutely disgusted. This was horrible! :deadhorse:

We got screwed by San Fran in the trade. Should have taken Floyd. :hangover:

Then we get a chance to take Elam and salvage that and they take

a guy they could have gotten at #47. WTF :wall:

I guess they had two good drafts, so they needed to have another typical bad draft.

Jerry must have panicked and forced that trade. He probably pushed for the center as well.

Man it's butt ugly in Dallas tonight.

Floyd was long gone by the time their pick came up. At least they avoided that.

Thank goodness I had beer tonight.

Passed on Floyd.

Make a poor trade with well below value.

Draft a good player, but a round too early. He is a top 50-60 player IMO.

Could have had Floyd and Frederick in the second. grrrrrrrr

Jerry being Jerry.

I just dont see how they justify this pick at all? Did they panic because their board was empty? I mean seriously??

I would rather them take a RB than a center. Atleast Lacy would have been a good value. With Murray always injured!!!!

Elam staring you right in the damn face though???? Really???

The trade was beyond understandable. That wasnt even good fantasy football trade value. Would cost you more in fantasy football to move up.

So horrible. This is why this team is the laughing stock of the NFL. This team will be dead ### last in the division next year and Garrett will probably get fired when the real problem with this team is the idiot with the plastic surgery smile. Stupid jackass.

Rumor is Floyd was 5th on our board....we pass.

Take ####ty trade

We call Frederick and he is shocked we picked him.

You can't make this stuff up.

Not surprised at all. I guess Garrett having the final say was just a bunch of trash. Like usual. This team will not get any better with Jerry Jones there. Its a fact. Going to have to live with it with this team. I dont think I can take much more of this crap.

I think I'm done. At the least, being here in Denver, we're not going to pay for Sunday Ticket. Just no interest in following this team anymore. Jerry Jones's ego has sapped any and all joy from watching the Cowboys from me. Congrats, Jerry.

Floyd didn't have quick enough twitch, apparently.Stephen Jones can't even do simple subtraction. Says we got better value on trade than chart. These guys are such morons.

Really depressed about this now. I'm losing any kind of hope the Cowboys will ever be successful again. Jones's are a joke.

I have to pay for my season tickets by May 1. Seriously considering waking away. I am so disgusted by the irresponsible stewardship of this regime.

We could have had Floyd at #18.

Instead we bend over to SF and get below value in return.

Then we make a reach on a center we could have had at #47.

No one would have been pissed with Floyd at #18. IMO

Sorry in such a bad mood, reading comprehension down. Thought you were talking about Fluker WHEN IT CLEARLY SAYS FLOYD. I would have loved Floyd. Begged that we'd take him.SF owned us. Our GMs can't do basic subtraction. Terrible trade double-downed by a terrible value pick. Some guys don't know how to draft. This group is among the worst in all of sports.

Haven't been here in a while but let me throw some optimism in here haha: Only 2 ways to control pick value: drafting best player available or finding a trade partner who is willing to pay. Let's be real, we don't have the luxury of BPA. 100% agree that we bent over for SF in that trade BUT... if teams weren't willing to pay up, our only other option was to stay put and take who... Floyd or Reid? Or worse, take Frederick (or best OG) at 18? I don't care what anyone says... I'm not taking Floyd or Reid over IMMEDIATE offensive interior help. Yes, pick value was bad, but player/team value was an A+ BTW...I'm now hearing Frederick was an early/mid 2nd prospect according to Charlie Casserly. Also Frederick's phone interview indicated 5 teams were targeting him early/mid 2nd. Not a big secret that we needed a center, we'd probably have to trade up in the 2nd to get him if we didn't take him in the 1st. Not saying I'm happy with the way the draft panned out at all, but this is the hand we were dealt. Our only other option was to trade up for one of the "solid" oline prospects. Same time last year some of you were upset about giving up our 2nd for a BLUE CHIP consensus top 5 pick. I think we all agree we need to hit big on Day 2 so trading up wasn't wise this year. So I ask you... Option 1:

Trade up for Vacarro (Blah)/Warmack/Cooper

Give up a 2nd/3rd

Option 2:

Take BPA

Keep our 2nd/3rd

Huge protection problems for Tony

Less flexibility going into Day 2

Option 3:

Trade down for Frederick.

Keep our 2nd/3rd

Add additional 3rd

Romo protected

More flexibility going into Day 2 I'm definitely upset with the way Round 1 panned out, but given the situation I'm taking option #3 all day.
