*** 2013 Official Philadelphia Eagles - NFC EAST CHAMPS*** (1 Viewer)

Washington next. They get 10 days rest and should be plenty motivated for this game. Will be tough.. especially with how we play at home. Should be a fantastic game though, and Foles better be ready to throw the ball a hell of a lot more then 18 times!
Did I miss something? Don't we play next Sunday? Where is the 10 days rest coming in?

This week is big. Very winnable game with big division ramifications. I think foles will have his mind focused this time. We should roll the skins. One step closer to foles being the guy long term.

If foles becomes the guy, that makes this rebuild so much quicker. We can go defense heavy in the draft instead of worrying about getting a top qb. This defensive scheme has a chance to be something special if we can get the right personnel. Exciting times for eagle fans.
THIS

If Foles is the guy, it does WONDERS for this team. Would love to see Curry get some more time in place of Cole to answer the pass rusher question as well. Going into the upcoming draft without having to take a QB or OLB just huge.

I'd like it if every pick in next year's draft was an OLB or DB. A Plan B player for Heremanns would be OK too, if they don't think somebody on the roster is suitable.

I think BPA is a good approach as long as they understand that we need mostly defense. If there's a playmaker to be had, don't pass him up to grab the 16th OLB on the board though.

Agree, basically, although on the offensive side I think they're struggling to find ways to get everybody the ball as it is, considering De/Le(Sean) always need to get theirs.

They need anybody with playmaking ability in the secondary, none of the current guys are completely awful and have to be replaced, but none of them is irreplaceable either. One of the things I think that significantly hurts the D is the combination of bend don't break in the secondary and zero pass rush. It's easy to find the holes with with time and a clean pocket. Barwin is solid but doesn't have the explosive burst to be a great pass rusher although he's OK there, and a very well rounded player overall. Cole is done as a pass rusher, although the effort is still there and shows against the run.

More pass rush I think will make a big difference, even with the DBs we have. If we can add a playmaker or two there it could be a really good defense in the making. If the offense continues to develop, the scoreboard will add some pressure as well.

@Tim_McManus: Shurmur: "Not saying there is a conspiracy." Something doesn't add up when it comes to replay. http://t.co/S8yERhvXYW

Stuff like this needs to be addressed
So at first it sounds like Shurmur said they were getting the in-house feed. Then he says later that they were getting the tv feeds. It either is or it isn't. If you're not seeing/hearing Buck and Aikman, it should've been figured out before the game starts. Sounds to me like he/they blew it and he's just spinning circles around the issue. If GB was holding things back, then it's their own fault. How hard is it to have someone watching an iPad with the television feed? Even though it's in the rules, why even rely on the opposing team's stadium when these kinds of things have/can happen?

If they see the TV feed the exact same time we do...it's too late, since we are seeing it at least 15 seconds behind the live action, if not 20+ seconds. There have been times I've seen NFL.com update a play 20 or more seconds AHEAD OF THE TV, implying that the gap may at times be even more. The booth needs a truly live feed.

My understanding is the replay feed to the coaches booth comes from the network truck directly, rather than the television broadcast for exactly that reason. It seems pretty simple, either they just f*$ked up, or the Packers didn't provide the feed they should have. I have heard of instances where the "home town" feed that is used for the scoreboard replays has been also sent to the visiting coaches booth (which is against the NFL replay regulations). Replays that aren't favorable to the home team usually aren't shown on that feed. More likely they just made a bad call.

This seems like something a QC coach (or maybe Fipp, the ST coach) should be responsible for. Shurmer's not calling the plays, but probably has more to do between plays that watch a replay of the previous play. Wrong people judging replays may be the ultimate issue here, they haven't been good on those at any point this year.

Oh yea, kinda forgot about that. :bag: Could be an issue.

Any new rumblings on the starting QB situation after the BYE week (12)? Do you Philly fans think Vick will get the job back?
Of course not. Well, it depends on this game. Even an average Foles game and he'll start after the bye. Would take a pretty bad performance to have the conversation about Vick happen.

With Dallas' injuries, and a suddenly much-improved defense, the NFC East is Philadelphia's to lose. So much for "rebuilding"!

I think this game solidified it for Foles if it wasn't already done before. He played much better then his numbers showed. 47 Rushing yards, 1 rushing TD... 300 passing yards, 0 turnovers, and easily could have had 2 tds as both those went down to the inch line and were vultured by Shady. Had we been more aggressive in the 2nd half, his numbers would have been even better. Even those good numbers aside, we finally got the home win monkey off our back, and I think the fans will be all aboard with him now.

Bye also comes at a great time. Get some of our guys healed up, and focus on the next two winnable home games. Gonna be an exciting stretch and to say the least, far better then most of us thought going into the year.

If Foles isn't our answer he would be to some team. The kid looks to be a quality NFL starter that rarely makes the wrong decision. The division is theirs to win... Amazing

@EliotShorrParks: Foles passer rating of 152.8 in past 3 games is the best stretch by a quarterback (rating wise) since Craig Morton for DAL in 1960. #eagles

@ZBerm: Foles on team at 3-5:You get to look in a mans eye and you can see if hes defeated or not. Not one person on this team who was defeated."

@ZBerm: The reason Foles kept winding up his arm? He banged up his shoulder and knew from a previous injury that it tightens up, so needed it loose
