Guys, we just have to hope that Kelly really is the smartest guy in the room. If you look at what Luck's, Wilson's and some other QBs stats have been their first ten games than Foles is totally legit. They had WORSE games than he had at Dallas.

It's been clear since pre-season that this kid is SHARP. He gets it. He can make great decisions, doesn't turn the ball over and seems to make much better use of all his weapons. Vick while the superior athletic talent looks like an 8th grader trying to take masters level college course by comparison.

So he Foles doesn't have a 4.3 40. So what! He was recruited to play basketball. He has good footwork (more import any than straight line speed) and he's athletic. People forget Drew Brees was a highly rated tennis player. That foot work has served him well too.

Didenger is the only guy to invest in. Mikey Miss is a tool and if you listen to his show at 2:00 on Monday (I have it in in the background) the same few callers keep buzzing in to hammer Foles. Ike Reese can suck it too. He's been anti-Foles along with Westbrook throughout. I've lost all respect for Ike and I used to enjoy him. Herm Edwards? What more to say here. Like another guy pointed out, there's a reason he's calling in stupid 97.5 instead of coaching.

People keep making these sweeping assumptions about Kelly and I just have to believe he knows what he's doing. To not give Foles at least next year and build the D through the draft would be madness.

We got a guy with great hight, smarts, accuracy and toughness too. It would be a crime to pass him up for some 200 pound "athlete" likely to get hurt. I don't think RG3 last 5 years in this league and if it wasn't for Garson being a contortionist, he wouldn't complete a pass. Foles is deadly getting the ball in stride. You dont have to have a rocket arm if your accurate and let guys catch and run.

And the league is still waiting for that running QB to win it all...

IMO the Read Option is skewed a bit from college to pros. In the pros all you should ask your QB to get is positive yards > first downs > then slide or get out of bounds. Foles can definitely do that if he keeps the Read Option within his ability.

I was just reading the Foles discussion and people's attitude towards him.

If Andrew Luck had people believing he should be rookie of the year last year with a 54% completion percentage, 23 TD's and 18 int's, can you imagine

what people would have been saying about him if he had a 7 TD game and had thrown 16 total TD's and 0 ints?

He would have been anointed the greatest QB of all time. As someone said, people are just looking to prove how smart they are when they predicted Luck would be can't-miss (which, by

the way, he is pretty good) or Foles would be mediocre. They try not to let facts and performance get in the way of their opinions.

I've seen zero updates on him other than postgame comments pointing towards a cramp rather than a hammy problem. I can't find any articles this week discussing his health.

At the time of the trade, no chance Foles > Richardson. Easy to look back on that now, but even now, no team would give a first rounder for Richardson. So yes, at the time of that trade, richardsons value was higher then foles' is right now.

Teams are a bit more cautious after the Palmer->Oakland, Kolb->Arizona disasters. I could MAYBE see 1-2 teams offering it up, but based on how small a sample size he has, teams aren't going to throw away a first round pick in this qb-loaded draft for him like its no big deal. Most of the teams needing qbs have bad records and are likely going to draft a qb in the first 10 picks of next years draft. So no, as much as I love what Foles is doing, no I don't want to retract my statement. I don't see 8-10 teams jumping up to give up a top 10 pick in next year's qb filled draft for Foles right now.

The only teams that might even consider trading a first rounder for a qb are The Jets, Browns, Jags, Texans, Raiders, Minny, Tampa, Rams. Half of those are going to get a top 10 pick and draft a franchise QB. Getting a first round pick next year by more then maybe 1-2 teams (and I think none would) doesn't seem plausible.

Probably 4 in the top 15: Bridgewater, Manziel, Carr, Mariota.

If you think Arizona would offer us a 1st after they traded us for Kolb 2 years ago, you're nuts. They learned their lesson and that past mistake would be enough reason for them to shy away from any offer to us. To an extent, I think Oakland is the same and after Palmer, etc... they're going to be slightly more careful with their first round picks... and isn't going to throw a 1st rounder at a risky QB again.

Pitt still has Ben and yes they may want to start thinking about the future, but to offer up a first round pick? Not happening. Chicago is in the same boat with Cutler, and St. Louis with Bradford. I think Tenn still has Locker in their long term plans. Not arguing that Foles might not be better then any of the above qb's but he simply isn't viewed as an elite qb that is a huge upgrade over Cutler, Bradford, Locker, Ben right now.

Leaves us with maybe Cleve and the Bucs who as of now might think Foles was a big upgrade over their current qb situation. Still think you are placing too much value on how good you/we think Foles is, and too little value on how important a first round pick is. He's played great and I'm a believer, but trades like this never happen in the league (of course their are exceptions like Cutler and Trich). I'd be very shocked if many teams put a first round grade on Foles right now, and even if every team did, that still leaves maybe 2 teams who would make that offer. 8-10 teams surely wouldn't be throwing that pick at us for him.

Dallas still has Oakland and Green Bay (with Rodgers back by then) and road games at Chicago and Washington. Would expect them to lose at least 1, probably 2 of those.

Philly still has Arizona, Detroit, and Chicago at home, and a road game at Minny. Would expect Philly to win at least 2, probably 3 of those.

Looks very likely the division will come down to week 17 at Dallas either way. I kind of like those odds.

Not to get too far ahead but the #3 seed is attainable. NFC North is in falling down and we play all of them. Playing the 6 seed at home is better than playing Carolina or New Orleans at home. Again, not trying to look too far ahead but it's all right there for them to grab. This 5 game stretch will be the first big test of Chip's career.

I also think the Cardinals are a bit over rated. They have wins against: Lions, Bucs, Panthers, Falcons, Texans, Jags, & Colts
