2014 Cakeleeg Draft - Pay up, SoCalBroncoFan (1 Viewer)

18th round already?
Bored of your other league already?
Which one? In in a lot of cool leagues.
Oh, you know.
NewZA is Mar 10, local auction is the 15th, local redraft is Mar 16, BTTF is approaching round 40, not sure when AOD and Uber fire up.
You're going to be in AOD but not this? Pretty weak sauce, Texas Pete.
Shuke was a ####, his family was cool though.

Don't think we even got through two full rounds today, can't wait until the 20th!!!!

6.09 - Curtis Granderson - OF (NYM)
What do you have for him this year?

I have 21/67/.244/.302 and 14 steals

Citifield is going to eat 10-15 of his Yankee Stadium homers, and he still hasn't shown he can hit lefties. Plus his division is probably the best division for starters in baseball. He's one of my favorite players and I want him to be good, I'm just very skeptical. Probably will come cheap in my home league, I might take a shot.

Think I'd like a do-over on that Starlin Castro bet. It was made under dental drugs and duress of drilling. Thought he was good for some reason, but my lord....

Apparently some new Euro application for bismuth in paint, replacing lead or some such...even though I thought lead in paint was removed decades ago. I dunno...check out a company called 5N Plus. On the hop and citing rise in bismuth prices for the stock move. We own a little. This Fanya Exchange in China where investors can trade 'rare' metals is interesting to watch. Indium has done very well this year, in large measure because of this exchange.

But my good god, if Uranium can rebound, I just might be able to walk around like Scupper for a few weeks.

We should have a chat about indium sometime.

I have Granderson projected for around .330 OBP, 85 runs, 27 HRs, 85 RBIs, and 12 SBs.

Granderson is a year removed from back-to-back 40+ HR seasons. Only one other player in MLB has two 40+ HR seasons over the last 3 years: Miguel Cabrera. He was top 8 in ISO in both of those years. Granderson is an elite power hitter in major league baseball.

The move to Citi Field will certainly impact Granderson's HR totals, but I don't think it will be nearly as drastic as some assume. I read an interesting article that evaluated how Granderson's power would translate to Citi Field.

http://metsblog.com/mets-rumors/curtis-granderson/how-will-grandersons-power-translate-in-citi-field/

It concluded that 32 of Granderson's 41 HRs in 2011 and 33 of his 43 HRs in 2012 would have been HRs at Citi Field. Granderson still would have had 30+ HR power if he had played all of his games at the "cavernous" Citi Field in 2011 and 2012. Considering that Granderson will only play half his games at Citi Field, I think he will likely only lose 5-8 HRs based on the park change. Even accounting for some decreased power due to his age and injury recovery, I still think it is reasonable to project Granderson for 25-30 HRs this season.

Granderson has posted a 11+% walk percentage over the past three years, so his major fantasy downside -- batting average -- is largely mitigated in an OBP league. I think you can also project Granderson for low double-digit steals.

Mediocre OBP, 25-30 HRs, and 10+ steals. Great value for the 89th overall pick, IMO.

I'm currently boarding a flight from Denver to Atlanta. I'm pretty sure that the flight has a wireless connection, so I should be available during the flight. If not, my flight lands in Atlanta at 11:20 ET.
