2014 Cakeleeg Draft - Pay up, SoCalBroncoFan (1 Viewer)

hated to back to back 1/2 closers, but I got trapped. I think brothers is the play, but I couldn't let Hawkins go somewhere else in case the Rockies somehow really believe he is a closer. I can make up for this since guys are taking venables and Eric youngs here, leaving a plethora of talent available.

Buckfast selects:

16.09 Eric Young, OF, NYM
llollollollolllol is this real? and I still always finish last? god, I suck
What I am I missing?
The possibility of a 60 SB leadoff hitter? EY2 stole 30 bases in the second half of the season last year. That type of speed has got some value at this point in the draft. Hell, Billy Hamilton went like 10 rounds ago and the potential impact is not all that different. Even if EY2 ends up only getting in the lineup a few times a week as a 4th OF, I still think he can be a game-changer from a roto perspective with his SBs alone. I've already got enough power to absorb the hit in those categories. I feel the need...the need for speed.

I like the EY pick at this point. Stole 38 bases in 90 games with the Mutts last year with a 318 OBP and 48 runs. He's purely a speed play, but his ADP is like 170 picks after Billy Hamilton.

Filling those 5 OF spots ain't easy.

The number of players without some warts is dwindling at this point. EY2 is a high upside risk-reward play, but I'll take that at this point. I've been waiting years for EY2 to get a chance to show off those wheels in a full-time role, and I think he is finally in a spot where he could potentially be the Mets' regular leadoff hitter. They don't really have many other good options to lead off, and Collins has suggested that he would ideally like EY2 to win the everyday leadoff hitter position.

16.13 - BJ Upton - OF - ATL

gross
He has to better than he was last year. I almost took him instead of Eric Young, Jr. with my last pick, but I just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger. I bet BJ ultimately represents decent value at this stage. He's got a decent shot at a 20 HR/20 SB season. And, despite his low batting average and strikeouts, he actually walks at a solid rate (10.5% career walk rate).

Is anybody tracking this eminence thread? Guy is nuts. It's hysterical but sort of sad.
Recap?
Burnout brags about his stock picks and being a prodigy, gambles on games with credit card loans and buys weed penny stocks. Works at walgreens for close to minimum wage and apparently takes online courses for an associates degree.

In the past 10 minutes, timschocha offered him a 5000 dollar loan and somebody made a meme generator.

Yeah, I had Upton in my sights a few times too, but then I read some articles about him....guy just doesn't seem to acknowledge or care how awful he was last year.

His youtube video for :e: was pretty awesome, I give him a little bit of credit for effort. Guy's a mess though.
