2014 NFL Draft thread (1 Viewer)

Everyone is dumping on the 49ers draft but I really like the Martin pick. There is a need at C and who knows how ready Iupati is after his injury. I'm skeptical of Ward as well and thought maybe Roby should have been the guy at 30, but after Aldon Smith I think Roby's off the field issues made a difference.

Aaron Murray time?

Maybe Joyner teammate and fellow safety Brooks (like getting Austin and Bailey last year).

I just had a thought about Gio and the Bengals offense.

Nothing substantial other than my own addled brain of course but I'm thinking that what the Hill pick really might mean is that you'll see Gio take up some of those plays that would have been booked for Hawkins. That they'll put both him and Hill in the backfield and split out Gio in the slot sometimes basically in the role of WR-3. If they don't pick a Hawkins-type WR I will feel a little more sure in this assessment.

I remember the salad says of the Woods/Brooks backfield. That was a powerful offense that had good receivers like Collinsworth as well. Both RBs did well fantasywise that year (both 10+ TDs) and Boomer through plenty of TDs. Basically it's a doable concept.

Hue is in command of the offense and I have to trust him (and he's been around long enough that I do respect him and trust him with this). I think Dalton's more likely to get dinged a little in fantasy value. Sanu's value might be basically dead. Marvin Jones won't get above what Alvin Harper usually did back in the day. Gio - my gut says Gio will still be alright.

I can safely cut bait on Pead now. And to think I gave up most of my draft the year he came out to trade up and take him in my dynasty league.

Mason could end up as one of the top three RBs in the class.

Cool that he was reunited with Robinson (like Bailey with Austin last year).

Auburn is Snead's alma mater, and Fisher's son went there.

Maybe Murray in the fourth.

Good lord Aaron Murray's chick is stupefyingly hot
Posing for the camera. She would be an expensive bang.
Bingo.http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/other_sports/FOX_29_reporter_Kacie_McDonnell_dating_Georgia_QB_Aaron_Murray.html

She gets around with pro athletes.
No kidding it was Kacie? I watch her traffic report every morning because of her. She's a smoke show times 10.
They talk about it on Preston and Steve all the time.

Zac Stacy owners crying
Mason backers crying even more. He's off my list.
Mason>>>>Stacy
Mason weighs like 205 pounds? Decent player, but I don't see him getting much action on 1st and 2nd down over a guy like Stacy(but I've always been a Stacy fan so I'm probably a bit of a homer here).
Stacy is better suited for that division. Plus Mason can't pass block yet.

Hell even with Ferguson taken, their was no bigger need in NFL than Bears at DT. Take Nix

Edit: They went Sutton. Still nice selection at position they desperately desperately needed.

Cards: Anyone but Mettenberger. Anyone but Mettenberger. Please no Bruce. Please no.

3-4 backer/DB such as Keith McGill or Breeland. Would mind an upside pick like Antonio Richardson/Gabe Jackson (just taken) or Tom Savage. I'd wait at least another round for QB,

Nice pick with Nix by Houston. Thought he'd be consideration with 2nd round #1 pick

Nice pick by AZ. Should be interesting how they use Martin Really I'd be satisfied with anyone but Mettenberger.
