The CBA shifted a lot of money from rookies into these FA and veteran contracts.
Then there's the cap which is finally going up after the players had it artificially flattened the last few years.
Then throw in we're half-way through the 4-year salary floor window. Teams who don't spend 89% over the 4-year period have to just hand over cash to the players. A bunch of teams are below that with some really below it like. They are going to have to start spending now to make up the gap.
I think these numbers are here to stay. And keep growing.

Thomas, OT Marshall Newhouse and WR Dwayne Harris. Re-signed RB Chris Ogbonnaya. Waived T Rogers Gaines and CB Travis Howard.
