Can you expand on this a bit? What was the biggest risk? If someone breaks in front of Greipel he's screwed?Sammy3469 said:It also took some balls from Cav to stay on Griepel's wheel instead of moving to Renshaw's, but it was the right call.Hell of a sprint finish there.
In stage 2 and 5 (I think) Cav basically blamed a poor lead out train for not winning the stage (it's a little more complicated than that, but that's the basic gist)...in this stage Renshaw was there at the right place and time, looking to lead him out. Plus in general it's better to use your own man/team as you know they'll die before the line (and generally where they will die..,usually at 300 meters out) and thus can get around them with ease without wasting any energy. To stick on Griepels wheel meant he a) could get boxed in(almost happened) b) Griepels may be going too fast to get past c) by doing so piss off your team even more. Can you expand on this a bit? What was the biggest risk? If someone breaks in front of Greipel he's screwed? I really don't know.Sammy3469 said:It also took some balls from Cav to stay on Griepel's wheel instead of moving to Renshaw's, but it was the right call.Hell of a sprint finish there.
Definitely my current favorite rider. The amount of points he's accumulated is insane.i have a serious man crush on sagan
"Nairo Quintana likes this"Mountains can't get her soon enough for team BnB.
unless he has a really bad day or gets injured, it's his. contador is the only contender close enough, imho, to challenge him. tj isn't a contender, he'll do well and plod up the mountains, but he has no kick to stay with the best climbers. quintana has a slight chance. i hope it's entertaining and we some magic in the mountainsThe sportsbooks certainly have Froome as an overwhelming favorite right now to win this thing. Tejay comparitively is close to 15-1.
How likely is it that Froome does't win (barring an injury)

Both Contador and Nairo (especially Nairo) could put enough into him on a climb. I think Nairo is the best pure climber, but he'll have to drop him probably 3 times at this point.unless he has a really bad day or gets injured, it's his. contador is the only contender close enough, imho, to challenge him. tj isn't a contender, he'll do well and plod up the mountains, but he has no kick to stay with the best climbers. quintana has a slight chance. i hope it's entertaining and we some magic in the mountainsThe sportsbooks certainly have Froome as an overwhelming favorite right now to win this thing. My guess is they wanted it so they didn't "have" to have another TT which are frankly even more boring. At least the TTT has moving parts, etc. Frankly they should just get rid of all TTs, but I'm sure the industry would be in a huff over that.Team time trials blow. Not sure why they brought them back. Even a pancake flat stage has more to it.
Chicken or the Egg?Two data points now on hardcore dopers ending up getting ball cancer. Warrants mentioning.
Maybe spending 10's of thousands of hours sitting on those saddles, mashing ones nuts, and constricting the blood flow to the boys is a bad thing for overall ball health. Two data points now on hardcore dopers ending up getting ball cancer. Warrants mentioning.
Lance was on stuff back to 1992 and maybe earlier. Most of it was at that point was testosterone applied with a patch to the ballsack. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not. Luckily ball cancer is fairly easy to treat.Chicken or the Egg?Two data points now on hardcore dopers ending up getting ball cancer. Warrants mentioning.
Didn't Lance get ball cancer, and then start doping (I always assumed he was using the ball cancer to disguise some of the creams he was using).
Or was Lance just an ineffective doper who got ball cancer, and then really learned how to dope?
Is there a link to this?On monday night a video was posted on Twitter showing Froome's famous climb of Mont Ventoux in the 2013 Tour overlaid with data including his heart rate, power, cadence and speed.

Carnage, just carnage.
Defending champion Vincenzo Nibali has been dropped and there are still more than 10km to go.
"He does not look happy at all, it has gone crazy in the commentary box here," reckons Rob Hayles. "One of the big favourites is in trouble."
