Tuck to Oak 2 years for $11 mil. Good guy and I would have given him 1 year for $3 mil, but for that contract, you can't blame him for leaving and for the Giants wishing him well.
Tate can't stay healthyGiants Sign Corner / Nickleback, Walter Thurmond ... Still interested in DRC

This is starting to shape up a little ...
Only thing I don't understand is why they paid so much for 29 year old Jennings when they could have had a 25 year old Ben Tate for less
Agreed. And IIRC, he hardly looked like a world beater this past season. I don't see Jennings' contract as that large either, and if we spend a bit more to get a guy that hopefully is more healthy and, imo, more talented (not that either will be mistaken for Jim Brown), I'm good with that.Tate can't stay healthyGiants Sign Corner / Nickleback, Walter Thurmond ... Tate's injuries were significant as of this last year - the team might feel that Tate's injuries are more likely to be an issue in the near term future.monk said:Tate can't stay healthyGiants Sign Corner / Nickleback, Walter Thurmond ... Still interested in DRC

I like this signing. Obvious issues with fumbling, but Coughlin's helped others in the past with that. This guy is a gamebreaker and a gamechanger... just need to make sure those breaks make change positive for the Giants, not against us.netnalp said:ProFootballTalk & #8207;@ProFootballTalk 17s
Trindon Holliday agrees to terms with Giants. League source. One year deal.
Holliday wasn't tendered an offer as an exclusive rights free agent by the Broncos. The soon-to-be 28-year-old is a dynamic return man but has fumbled 11 times the past two years. He averaged 8.5 yards on punt returns and 27.7 yards on kickoff returns in 2013. Holliday has four return scores in two seasons.
I think I would rather have Barr if he is available ...his highlights look awesome. Reminds a bit of LT the way throws his body around and hits like a beast.I'd love for one of the big 3 OT to fall to us, but very unlikely. After them, it would be a reach to grab any other lineman at 12. I have to say Ebron at 12 if he's still available would be tough to say no to.
Agree about de la Puente.I like the last few signings by the Giants (Ayers, Brown and Davis) but wish they would have signed Brian de la Puente who signed with the Bears for a pretty cheap deal
They still need some help at the center position on the OL
This is Reese and co. we're talking about right?something tells me they're going to either trade up to snag Ebron ,Clowney ( if they can get the Rams off of the #2 pick), or even Watkins/Evans.if not I think they'll trade down..I doubt they stay put at #12..they've made a lot of moves to fill holes, and it will enable some freedom with that first pick..
All of the so called experts say that this draft is deep and the Giants still have a lot of holes to fill so I don’t like the idea of trading up for a playersomething tells me they're going to either trade up to snag Ebron ,Clowney ( if they can get the Rams off of the #2 pick), or even Watkins/Evans.if not I think they'll trade down..I doubt they stay put at #12..they've made a lot of moves to fill holes, and it will enable some freedom with that first pick..
Agreed ... Unless any of these 8 or 9 guys falls to them I would trade back if possible. I would take Mathews or Lewan over anybody but Clowney and maybe WatkinsI don't see any way they trade up. Ideally they plan to pick a guy like Ebron, Evans, etc that slips to the 12 spot. If all those guys are gone, then I think it makes sense to trade back.
Interesting thought, but moot because there is no way in hell they trade Eli. Nor would any team give up those picks. He's 33 and coming off one of the worst seasons of his career. If he follows up last year's numbers with more of the same, then maybe next season it becomes a discussion. Would be very unlike the Giants to cut bait on him at this point.Question to Giant fans just for the sake of discussion.
While I appreciate everything he has done for us, I am not a huge Eli fan and I think he may be starting decline.
What do you think he could bring back in a trade? Would one of the top 5 teams give up a 1st and 2nd this year and a 1st next year? Would the Rams give up the 2nd and 13th picks this year? Or the Browns 4th and 26th this year and a 1st next year? Imagine what the Giants could do with those picks?
There has also been some mocking DT Aaron Donald to the Giants.Agreed ... Unless any of these 8 or 9 guys falls to them I would trade back if possible. - Clowney - No Chance
- Sammy Watkins - No chance
- Jake Mathews
- Taylor Lewan
- Khalil Mack (I don't love him as much as everyone else)
- Greg Robinson
- Eric Ebron
- Mike Evans
- Maybe - Anthony Barr ( Was very high on him until I realized he played in a 3-4)
With his age, season he had and salary the Giants might get a 5th rounder for him. I like Eli but he isn't a certainty to turn a team he goes to into a playoff contender. They wouldn't offer much.Interesting thought, but moot because there is no way in hell they trade Eli. Nor would any team give up those picks. Excellent timing. What a bunch of idiots.Eli had ankle surgery today
After reading Matt Waldman's opinion on Aaron Donald, I'm warming up to the idea of taking him. There has also been some mocking DT Aaron Donald to the Giants.Agreed ... I've read that it's very unlikely that Mack is there at 12.
Yeah I wouldn't be upset at all if they took him after watching that. After reading Matt Waldman's opinion on Aaron Donald, I'm warming up to the idea of taking him. There has also been some mocking DT Aaron Donald to the Giants.Agreed ... I like Donald. He's an attacking DT. The Giants need that since they haven't been able to get reliable pressure for years with the rotation of keeping 2 reliable and fresh DE's on the field. Even back in the days of the SB run with Strahan, Osi and Tuck, they had trouble getting to the QB without rushing a LB or DB too. It's a misnomer that the Giants during their SB seasons were able to get pressure with just rushing the Dline.Yeah I wouldn't be upset at all if they took him after watching that. After reading Matt Waldman's opinion on Aaron Donald, I'm warming up to the idea of taking him. There has also been some mocking DT Aaron Donald to the Giants.Agreed ... The only problem is I hate replacing a player (Linval Joseph) with a 1st round pick.
I want someone who is going to start right away ... still praying for Lewan to fall
Kirwan and Miller did a hypothetical trade between the Browns and Giants today on movin the chains. Miller (Browns) calls Kirwan (Giants) - I hear you guys are a little down on Eli ... would you be interested in moving him?
Kirwan - Maybe but we would want two 1st rounders in return .................... This year.
Miller - I'd give you one this year and one next year
Kirwan - Ok but it had better be the 4th pick this year
Miller - Wait a minute I thought some people in your front office believe Eli is on the Downside.
Kirwan - Hold on just a minute ................................................those guys are fired, lets talk.
After, Kirwan went on to say in all seriousness, If you're the Browns with their history of QB problems ... Are you going to take your chances and roll with an unproven rookie or take the 2 time Superbowl Champion and MVP who would immediately be the greatest leader in Browns history? Oh ... and the Browns have tons of cap space.
Again ...this was hypothetical, but I think Eli (Or any proven QB) has more value than you might think. There are only a handful of QBs playing in the NFL that have won superbowls ... never mind two.
