This set of polls is for rookie picks post NFL draft. As always - please feel free to add any comments on why you selected a player at this slot and to suggest players who you think have been overlooked (or if you voted other, then please feel free to add a post on who you voted for).

The purpose for these polls is to attempt to roughly gauge the perceived values of the rookie players now that we know the context of their draft position and team that they are drafted by. These polls that take place after the NFL Draft should now factor in situation as well as talent, and of course the knowledge of what NFL Draft round and team each player has landed on.

Debate is very welcome as we all want to know not only which players are specifically ranked ahead of others but also why. This also bumps the thread so that more people will see the poll and hopefully participate by voting.

I will try to stay on top of these and keep the polls moving. The more votes the better. I prefer to not close any poll until there are at least 100 votes (since revised to close to 50 votes) and I might leave a poll open longer if the vote is very close between prospects.

I had Williams over the QBs in my PPR leagues. In both leagues, my QBs are stronger than my TEs, which influenced my rankings.

I had:

Todd Gurley

Melvin Gordon

Amari Cooper

Kevin White

DeVante Parker

Dorial Green-Beckham

Nelson Agholor

Ameer Abdullah

Breshad Perriman

T.J. Yeldon

Tevin Coleman

Duke Johnson

Maxx Williams

Jaelen Strong

Jameis Winston

Marcus Mariota

Devin Smith

I think in hindsight, I should have had Strong over Williams.

I cannot agree with what has happened in the previous PPR poll where Maxx Williams won over both Winston and Mariotta. That makes absolutely no sense to me.
Potential productive TEs are difficult to come by and both QBs have significant red flags. Winston off field and Mariota in adapting to the NFL and a bad supporting cast.

I've been high on Williams for awhile. Plus, most teams (myself included) have some sort of start able tandem or trio at QB so a should be fine for 5+ years at QB. Not so much with TE.

The QB were taken 1st and 2nd overall Maxx Williams was the 55th overall pick.

While I would not consider myself a fan of Winston or Mariotta, they were top picks by the NFL. They are tier 1 prospects while I consider Williams to be a tier 2 prospect.

The way I view these rankings, or how I vote is not influenced by current team needs. I can understand team need causing you to draft for a position. However I would still try to rank (and vote for) players based on who I think has the greatest odds to become an impact player.

The positional scarcity (or lack there of in a start 12QB league) is certainly a consideration. However this also applies to the TE position as well. So I just cannot see myself ever considering Maxx Williams over either of the top 2 QB. If I did want to do that because of team need, I would expect to be able to trade down.

What you're describing is rankings rather than draft positions. I agree that these "pick" shouldn't be made on what you would do with a specific team, they should though be based on how you would draft with A team.

Maxx has gone before both QBs in 10 out of 12 rookie drafts I've been in this year, so it doesn't come as a surprise at all.

At 34 votes now

It looks like Maxx Williams might win the standard poll over Mariotta currently 9 votes to 7

Winston has a 1 vote lead over Jay Ayaji in the PPR poll

Duke Johnson is leading the 2QB poll with 8 votes

At 40 votes there are now two ties.

Mariotta and Maxx Williams with 9 votes each in the standard poll. Winston and Jay Ajayi with 10 votes each in the PPR poll.

Poll closed at 48 votes.

* Winston and Ajayi were tied again at 49 votes in the PPR poll but for the purpose of moving on I gave the decision to Ajayi who had a lead at 48 votes
