I would like him to go when Rubio does.

Rubio, Dieng, Muhammad and a 1st for Gay and Cousins, who says no?
Sacramento unless that 1st is this years unprotected.  I don't particularly like that for our Wolves either in terms of fit with our Savior and Wiggins.

Who says no if you throw that package at the Bullets for Wall?

I'm certainly intrigued if the first is unprotected. Maybe even if it's top 5 protected, assuming they also take on some of the dead weight Grunfeld took on this summer as part of the deal to speed up the rebuild. Can we interest you in this lovely Andrew Nicholson? Although both his face and his play make him look 40, he's actually a youthful 26. Or perhaps a barely used Ian Mahimni? Like new- only fourteen minutes played this season!

Also its hard to know how much of this is my Wiz fandom and how much is just wanting to see Wall run with Wiggins, LaVine and Towns.

Right...they have to at least consider punting this year especially if they can get a top 5 pick an low lottery pick (even with Wall, I seriously doubt Minny could make the playoffs this year) in a loaded draft that probably goes 13 deep in potential All-Star level talent (and I sort of take back what I said about Sacro since they'd be in the same situation though I think Minny might make a run for the playoffs with Cousins).

A team of Beal, Porter, Ball (Wiz top 5 pick), Giles (Minny's 10-13 pick) looks more appealing to me long term than what they are rolling out there now.

What about Rubio, Wiggins and Pekovic's contract for Wall and a lottery protected first?

Maybe, especially if they take back some Wiz dead weight in return.  But why would Minny want to dump Wiggins?  Also I'm not sure about the fit with Beal and Porter already there.  If you've missed it (understandable, since who would ever subject themselves to watching this atrocious Wiz team), Porter is having a monster breakout season.

It's Larry Bird's birthday today. He's 60.

Seems like that MSU ISU game was just a couple of years ago. #### I'm old.
####.  I thought Kobe and Garnett retiring made me feel old.  This is a real kick in the nuts.

Not always a fan of Seth Davis's work, but his book about Michigan State/Indiana State game and Magic and Bird's journey, "When March Went Mad", is really good.  Don't think too many folks know how close we were to Bird spending his adult life on garbage trucks back in French Lick.

Wolves would be getting the best player in the deal under contract for a few years, and retain some FA flexibility. I'm personally relatively low on Wiggins and if they can flip him while he's still perceived to have unlimited potential for a proven top 15 player, it's worth considering. I can understand why the Wolves might want to see him develop more though.

I don't see the Wiz much these days, but can't Otto play stretch 4?  I know he's having a good year but the talk that he's getting a max deal makes me uncomfortable on Wiz fans' behalf.

I dunno. He's still incredibly thin and not very strong.  His rebounding totals are mostly a result of hustle and court time and the fact that Markieff is playing lazy and sloppy and not doing his share (6.5 per 36, worst of his career by far) more than size or positioning.

While we're here, fun fact that just came across my twitter:

Since 2003-2004, all but three NBA teams have had a 47+ win season: Bucks, Sixers and Wiz. The punchline? The Wiz haven't had one since 1978-79.

Wiz are in such a weird spot. A top tier talent in Wall, a quality player in Biel and Porter breaking out. All still young with their primes in front of them... Yet it doesn't work. They shouldn't be this bad even with the scrubs surrounding them. 3 quality players (with one a top player) is usually enough to be a playoff team. Might be getting ahead of myself calling Porter quality though...

Too young to blow it up. Not good enough to keep them all.

Second time I've used that smiley today - and I don't think I've used it much before.

It's hard to really explain just how bad the scrubs are.  Here's another fun fact from this great Deadspin takedown of Grunfeld: of the 400ish players getting regular minutes this season, 4 of the 11 worst by net rating are Wizards.  The starters basically have to outplay the opponent's starters by double digits to have a shot at a win.

Interesting:

Sixteen teams make the playoffs every year. And over the last 10 full seasons (throwing out the 2011-12 lockout-shortened season), an average of 13.6 of the 16 have been in playoff position at the quarter pole. Basically, seven of the top eight teams in each conference at this point in the season will stay there.

I'm glad Durant is a "quitter".

After Timmy and until Our Lord and Savior, THREESUS....I cheered for BJ Armstrong, Avery Johnson, Bimbo Coles, Vonteego Cummings, Jamal Crawford, GA, Monta, and aside of a few years with BD we were absolute trash. So I'm gonna enjoy the #### out of this period in Dubs history.

I'm happy for you- sounds like a version of what I've had to endure, and I'm always pleased to see long-suffering fans enjoy success.

Starters are still a bunch of dooshbags, though.

OTOH the coach seems pretty cool.  Plus Shaun Livingston is easy to love.

This probably has to be edited with the now pending Barnes/Boogie nightclub lawsuit.

Cheering when you are up 30 points is bad form.
CHEERING for your teammates is never bad form however many points you're up.

TAUNTING your opponent when you're up 30 points is bad form.

COMPLETELY DISREGARDING the game when you're up 30 points is disrespect to the other team AND your teammates.

It also demonstrates the absence of clutchness IMO.

Is Gordon any good? Seems like Basketball Twitter still loves him but his numbers suck and and we should be seeing something in year 3.
He's playing way out of position because the Magic are run by morons. He should be a small ball 4 grabbing offensive rebounds and dunking but instead he's playing on the perimeter, which is great because he can't shoot or handle the ball.

He'll be way better somewhere else.

That sort of sounds like a more athletic Kenneth Faried even if he was being utilized right though. I don't know, maybe he'll get the shooting figured out.

Lol was wondering why you were crying so hard about the cavs until I saw your picture. Poor warrior fans got BTFO so hard last year.

This doesn't have anything to do with GS blowing a 3-1 lead to the Cavs, does it?

Does Vucevic, Gordon, Mario (RIP) and that 2018 Lakers first net the Magic Boogie?
I would consider it if I was Sacramento. Unless something significant changes in the CBA, Cousins is gone in 1.5 years and they aren't going anywhere in that time, so they should really look into getting the best they can for him.

Nothing to do with that, but rather everyone hating on the Dubs for being dbags when they celebrate.

Just pointing out the hypocrisy of the haters.

I don't know if that's the best they can get but every day that passes he is worth less and less.
I don't know that this is true. Time left on contract is not necessarily perfectly correlated with trade leverage. They have some time to wait and see if a potential buyer gets desperate. Especially since Boogie is not forcing the issue at all. I think he actually likes being an unaccountable superstar in a relatively small market where he's comfortable, and wouldn't be totally shocked if he re-signed. A significant portion of the fan base wants him gone though.

Going back a page, I'm on board with the Wolves moving Wiggins.  He's a solid scorer, but other than that I'm not sure what he brings to the table.  Not a great creator, poor rebounder, average defender, and I question his clutch factor. When the Butler rumors were hot, I was really hoping that the Wolves would've dangled Wiggins to get him.

He's not the problem per se, I'm just not sure he's as big of a part of a big time team as a lot of people think he might be.

And I've been a huge Rubio fan, but I'm done with him.  Can't have a PG that can't hit open 20 footers.

Are people doing this? I understand hating on them because of Draymond's "Kinesiology" or Durant's "if you can't beat them join them" or his "nobody believes in us" or Curry's acting like he's never made a 3 before. But for celebrating? We're they celebrating after being up 3-1 last year?

Get out.

Honestly, the 3-1 jokes stopped bothering me the minute Durant signed and they should be dead once the Indians blew a 3-1 lead too. But carry on if you guys must.
