***2016 MLB Playoff thread: Cubs win for first time since sliced bread hit market

I hope they leave empty fried chicken boxes and Budweiser cans all over that visiting locker room.
I was gonna change thread title with everyone knowing how much I hate the Red Sox, but the current one deserves at least one more day.

Papi gone but Panda gets revenge by putting all local Cleveland KFCs out of business...wouldn't have fit anyway.

Cleveland really dominated the Red Sox, good luck to them.

Ortiz is my second favorite player of all-time, right behind Pedro.  Heck of a career.

I'm not sure if it'd be more fitting and frustrating to have the Cubs choke away a series in the next two rounds, or to do it now and have the Giants go on to win the whole thing.

Remember one game ago when the announcers were jerking off madbum for hitting homers in batting practice? I do.

Sick of the Giants.

Most likely scenario for Cubs is getting to the series for first time in 70 years, lose in spectacular fashion, then don't get back until Kris Bryant is collecting social security.

Im not rooting against the Cubs, but there really is a chance their fans become unbearable if they win. Better them than the Giants or the axis of evil (cards, Red Sox, Yankees).

If they play the Indians, I'm doing some Cubs face paint and maybe a tattoo if they win.

The Cubs, Nats and Indians all could be in the LCS, which has to mean the Blue Jays are going to win it all.
Nats are not the Cubs or Indians, probably the two worst franchises in the sports history because the St Louis Browns actually became something.

Nats fans are so negative, they draw their mojo from the Caps, Wizards, or recent Redskins.

Baseball is the hardest sport to consistently get in and advance. Nats have been in DC 11 years and they've been in the playoffs 3 times, only the Cards series was a heartbreaker. Expos were an expansion franchise in 1969, and they got screwed in two different strike seasons where they had legit shots at going far.

The franchise has been disappointing but that has nothing to do with the 2016 Nats. They don't have the talent the Cubs or Red Sox have, but they have enough. I could go back 15 years and list the champs and rarely has that team had the most talent or the best team all things considered over a 7 month season. You win one game at a time, no one is thinking about the '81 Expos.

Can they beat the Cubs? I sure hope we find out. If trump thinks a sneak attack on Mosul is entirely possible, so are the Nats in the series.

This eerily reminds me of Game 4 of the 1984 NL Championship when Steve Garvey took Lee Smith deep to right-field (I can still see Carmelo Martinez desperately climbing the wall at Jack Murphy Stadium).
