***2016 MLB Playoff thread: Cubs win for first time since sliced bread hit market (1 Viewer)

Hendricks deserves all the credit for this one. One of the best pitchers in the game but doesn't get the respect. Hopefully that just changed.

Full disclosure.

Im at the bar right now in ####### tears because of the fact that I can't call my old man right now to tell him congratulations

Well they got what they wanted, Chi vs Cle/Bos.  Cubs seem like the team of destiny.  Hoping for a long series.
It's too bad Cleveland's pitching staff isn't at full strength.  Could have been an incredible series especially with Cleveland having home field advantage.

Now all the Bears have to do is get out of this slump and get to the super bowl this year.

I can't call this one but the tribe shutdown a stacked jays team while hitting .168 or .169 as a team in 5.

I'd be happy for either team esp the Indians.. (huge fan as a kid in the 90s)

I'm excited though.

Of the original MLB franchises, the Pirates now have the longest streak of not being in the World Series at 37 years.  Current championships droughts are Cubs, Indians, Rangers (55 years), Padres (47 years) and the Mariners (40 years) who have never even been in a World Series.

Just realized that the by far best team in baseball has to travel for game 1 and maybe game 7 because of a pretend baseball game 3 months ago. Cool.

Longest combined WS drought per ESPN stats - 174 years.
