***2016 MLB Playoff thread: Cubs win for first time since sliced bread hit market (1 Viewer)

CLEVELAND AGAINST THE WORLD ONE MORE TIME!!!
I really think you'd be hard pressed to find a major sporting event in history where the general public's rooting interest was so lop-sided. The Indians in the WS could've been quite the feel good story this season. Nope, they are just some random team that gets to be on the field when the world's favorite team breaks the drought.

I've been wearing my block C Indians hat to work during the Postseason. Nearly everybody assumes it's some sort of Cubs hat. Many have no idea the Indians are also in the playoffs.

Having watched too much of the Indians I will say they are like an efficient department store. They do everything well and they do it together for nine innings. Cubs are better position to position but as a whole I think the Indians are as good. Plus into late October in cities on the Great Lakes the Cubs hitting advantage could be mitigated by the north wind. Cubs should win this series but I think Vegas and the public are selling the Tribe short.
They are an excellent team, not as strong in starting pitching but that's it. It will be a great series

I heard they were going to hold a home run derby between Ehlo & Jordan

Lindor starts the road to becoming this generation's Jeter this week.
We are entering the golden age of SSs.  Lindor, Correa, Seager, Turner, Russell, and future guys like JP Crawford and Brendan Rodgers.
Yeah he seems pretty good too.  Orlando Arcia has a high upside as well, tons of great SS play ahead of us in the next decade+.

This is what the Indians do.  Single, BB, BB, dribbler single, HBP...2 runs.

I mean I've seen this movie over and over again all year.

Hit what .168 or .169 vs Toronto?
Yeah but they scored the second most runs, had the 4th highest OPS, and stole a league high 134 bases.  They will nickle and dime you for awhile and then someone like Naquin doubles with the bases loaded and they put a 5 on the board in an inning.  Again, this is a really good team.

And those are the kind of teams that have been winning series lately.

Really? This team won 103 games and a guy that hasn't seen big league pitching in 7 months is hitting 5th?

But he was doing a great job tracking pitching in Arizona, while his team was playing in the NLCS.

Kluber can throw the slider and the two seam on back-to-back pitches like nobody else.  He has them completely fooled so far with his pitch selection, nasty.

Oh I see know this team isn't a one trick pony.  Epitome of a TEAM that when going gets tough they find a way ti win with little things.

WHEN I thought Texas could go far if SP came back (insert jokes) that the Indians would be the team we would have to beat to play in the series.

ESPN Dallas brought up at time how Cleveland's measuables/metrics were only team better than tx at time.

Rose is kinda crazy looking but he's fun to hear talk about hitting. I don't want him to pontificate on anything else, but his hitting commentary is very interesting.

Also Smoltz doing color is awesome as always.
