***2016 MLB Playoff thread: Cubs win for first time since sliced bread hit market (1 Viewer)

Alright you lovely people, I gotta go have a drink or twelve.

I never thought it would happen, just stunned and so happy. :)

Zobrist MVP, Maddon winning manager, even the guy who got the save was a Ray. Fml. Cheap ####ing ######## owner.

What about the kid from Mission Viejo High that posted in his 1993 yearbook that Cubs would win it in 2016?

Before you scream hoax, my kids went there and my daughter baby sat the kids of a gal on the page before this guy and she verified it.

Congrats again Cubs fans. You deserve it. Wrigley games in the bleachers are an experience that everyone should enjoy if you like baseball.

And if you don't like baseball, just stand in the bleachers for the party.

Chevy won some automotive awards!

Why?  Because they make so many ####ty cars it's just a numbers game that they win awards.  Thank you Chevy, you're the below average American dream in a 2k pound vehicle that will lose 3/4 of its value seven months after you drive it off the lot.

And Rizzo should have been MVP.

well both teams gave it there best so id say their both winners here tonight the only losers are the guys who worked overtime making the cleveland wins commercials we never got to see and you can take that to the ad bank ben zobrost

Frank Chance was the guy who was donkey-punching hookers on road trips because they couldn't vote then, and it was allowed.  Not sure if @Eephus has a Frank Chance story, but it wouldn't pass the PG rating here in the FFA.

Still think Tito won the Manager battle, just didn't have enough horses to get to the finish line.  Connie Mack would have refused the post-game interview, he would have gone to the clubhouse and immediately slashed salaries and got his off-season farming plan in order.

I can't believe a team with Mike Napoli hitting fourth was anywhere near a postseason, much less one bounce from winning the Series.

Totally agree with this. Only mistake I thought he made was using Miller in Game 4 for so long when they were up big.

I agree it was tough, but you can only beat your Klubot-Miller-Allen horses so much before it finally backfires. Same with Maddon and Lester-Chapman. Then again, if Maddon doesn't get too cute and pull Hendricks when he was in cruise control, none of this fun probably ever happens.

This isn't whining it's the truth.  Madden was horrible like pulling Hendricks too early, pitching Chapman last night in a blowout,  the 2 strike bunt.  The cubs won because they have a more talented team not because of their manager.
