IDK about ever, but in your lifetime have you ever seen such a terrible group of candidates? They're all absolutely ####### terrible, this is sad and pathetic that these are our candidates.

Only because of Trump, and to a lesser extent Cruz. Hillary Clinton and john Kasich are both among the most qualified candidates for President we have ever had, and either one would make an excellent President, though I prefer Hillary. Bernie Sanders is a dynamic choice and brings new issues to the forefront, though I tend to reject his solutions. Marco Rubio would be serviceable.

So the answer is no. All the problems are on the Republican side. And this thread attempts to make the same tired argument that we always hear from conservatives whenever things go wrong on their side: "Hey it's not just us; the Democrats suck too." Well they don't.

Except I'm not a conservative, and your candidates suck equally to the right

Your argument is so hypocritical and littered with nonsense.

I think this is the worst group.

Trump is being sued for fraud, and is barely qualified.

Hillary is under investigation by the FBI.

Both Hillary and Trump are viewed negatively by more than 50% of America.

Nobody has endorsed Cruz.  Rubio, Kasich and Sanders aren't relevant right now.

I've never seen party treat their front-running candidate like he is from the other party

Horrible. 2008 was a brutal head to head as well but this year probably edges it out.

To be fair, we haven't seen a party favorite with so many views this out of step with the rest of the party in a long time.

I'd say 1872 was the worst. Grant won and while he did do well with Civil Rights, some of the worst corruption the country has ever seen went on under his watch. His opponent Greeley was the editor of the New York Tribune and his only political experience was a 3 month stint in the House. Grant was the President while the Credit Mobilier scandal happened and Greeley owned stock in the company. Greeley's wife died about a month before the election and he became very depressed and stopped campaigning. Greely died before any electoral votes were cast. So I have to say Grant or an unqualified dead guy were the worst set of options the country has ever seen.

Say what you will about Bernie's policies but the guy is probably the most honest and least corrupt presidential candidate we've had.  In an era where political corruption and dishonesty is one of the top issues I'm surprised some people seem to hate him so much.  I understand some of his views are extreme but what he could actually get done as president is far less extreme which should placate that some.  His biggest fault is that he's too nice and wants to try and help people too much.  A stark contrast from every other candidate.

Let's be honest it's a ####ty job.
I don't know who wouldn't want an immensely stressful job that makes you age twice as fast, where half the country hates you, and where there's a tangible chance of assassination.

Even his followers know how extreme his views are.

Sure, he might be honest and won't be corrupted easily, but is that where the bar is being set for the President? He can't be corrupted, he'll be a good President.

Furthermore, it doesn't take an economics professor to know that raising revenue by $15 Trillion will make it easier to get things done.

This guy sucks the most, and I hate the others.

Assuming this ends up as Hillary vs. Trump, this will be the worst in my lifetime and it won't have been close.  Every other election has had at least one candidate that I was okay with, and usually two.  I think these two would be my #1 and #2 most disliked candidates ever, and it really sucks to get them in the same election.

Not much of a contrast at all from Kasich. Except Kasich has some common sense.

Well if you consider Clinton, Trump and Cruz are the only ones with a chance to win. Yeah its the worst ive ever seen and the people voting for them make me scratch my head.

Kasich vs. Sanders for the election would be great, one of the better ones in recent memory.  Given that it's almost certainly going to be Hillary vs. Trump or Cruz, it will instead be the worst.

This is the only matchup that makes sense to me. These guys were debating each other in Congress 20 years ago when no one else was listening in small sub committee rooms. This matchup would result in sincere ideological debate on the issues between two ethical, very experienced candidates.

Yeah, that's not going to happen.  Too much $$ to be made in televising and promoting a 3 ring circus.

A woman with...

-8 years of White House experience as the 1st Lady

-8 years as a US Senator from the great state of New York

-4 Years serving under Barack Obama as Secretary of State with immense knowledge in foreign affairs

-Ran in 2008 for President, eventually supporting the front runner and then accepting a position on the President's Cabinet.

President 42-Gov of Arkansas

President 43-Gov of Texas

President 44-US Rep

Compare that resume with the previous 3 who took office and her resume looks pretty strong to me.

Yeah, it's a wonder anyone wants it. Completely exhausting and thankless job.
It is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it... anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.

Odd because most of the conservatives acknowledge the problem is on both sides.  It's most of the libs that blame only the conservatives for obstructing progress, which is exactly what Tim is doing,  but he's saying the conservatives are the ones who do that.

Sanders is a fantastic candidate, the only one who sees clearly the reasons behind America's catastrophic economic collapse, and who offers a rational roadmap to get it back on course. Hillary is, at a minimum, massively experienced and perfectly capable of maintaining the status quo. Cruz, Rubio and Trump are a hot mess, certainly the worst collection I've seen in my lifetime. I don't think the GOP will survive this embarrassment.

I don't see how anyone can watch the debate tonight and watch the Republican debate from last week and not think that, this time around, the Dems are far superior.

The 76ers and Nets squared off last week - I don't know how anyone could've watched that game without thinking the Nets are the far superior team.

Good thing no one watches the Dem debate.

Ratings Dem debate 3.9 mill, Rep debate 12.5 mill.

It is hard to remove Trump from the equation.  He pulls everyone down.
They engage right back. It's on the main 3. Cruz doesn't have to pull that bull#### parent act he's done the past 2 debates with the stupid "calm down, Donald.", "count to 10, Donald", "deep breaths, Donald".

Not the worst but it's close.  If we get Hillary vs. Donald it will definitely be the most phony.  I don't believe much either says but at least Hillary has tangible experience.

Reminds me a lot of Ron Paul's campaign(s). Seemingly nice, honest and relatively non-corrupt. Some extreme views (though obviously not the same ones). Experienced/old. Support from a vocal contingent of young voters. That comparison doesn't bode well for Sanders' chances, though.

Now that it looks like we are getting close to a Hillary/Trump card, can more people switch their vote?

This is absolutely ####### pathetic! These are our 2 best candidates? Really?? REALLY?!?!???
