2017 College Football Thread: Hawaiian QB devastated to find out Jesus was "kinda rooting for Georgia" (1 Viewer)

I really hope Tulane gets an invite to the Big XII with this competitive performance vs OU.
Replace Baylor?

So I texted a Pro Level 99 TCU fan and asked about the Baylor stadium.  Said they owe 100-120 Million on it and have the future XII revenue pledged against it.  The debt could potentially swallow the entire athletic department.

Here's hoping

He pulled the ball back voluntarily...it's not like a TD where it's over once he breaks the plane.  He pulled the ball back...it wasn't pushed back by a defender as a forward progress thing.

edit...looked like he pulled it back before the knee was down...

Wow LSU was overrated again despite having done absolutely nothing the year before, who knew
You're looking at this wrong.  Surely MSU was just underrated.

I expect MSU to clock in at #2 in next week's top 25.  LSU moves up one spot to 11 for putting up a TD on MSU.

OMG Texas

eta - USC got a 55 yard TD as time expired in the first half. Darnold threw it about 20 yards and Ronald Jones ran it last 35 as Longhorns watched helplessly.

C-A-T-S     CATS    CATS    CATS!!!

After giving up a 68 yd score on the first play of the game and then throwing an int on the 3rd play of the game, UK somehow leads South Carolina 17-6 at the start of the 4th.  About time for the typical UK meltdown...

Love me some Tampa 2 defense on a ####ing end of the game hail mary :lmao:
It was cover 4.  The corner on that side who was supposed to be helping deep jumped up because there was a guy underneath wide open that would have set up an albeit very long field goal.  But Florida does have a kicker with the leg for it.

The angle I saw, it looked like the safety was watching franks for some reason, which is how the wideout ran by him. The corner let him go by, which also doesn't make any sense for the situation.

Like 10 people on twitter have said it's was a cover-2, although that's not an exhaustive opinion.

There's a twitter circle jerk right now killing Josh Allen over this Oregon game.  From the same clowns that declared him the next Dan Marino all summer long.

If it was cover-2 then it was the weirdest cover-2 I've seen, because both CB's were 35+ yards downfield until the one at the top of the field made the decision to move up to the open mid-level receiver who Franks looked at just before chucking it deep.

The open WR for Florida was around the 50 yard line (about 15 yards beyond the LoS) and had at least that much additional space in front of the CB who eventually tried to jump up on him.  It looked like the CB made that decision on his own because he was moving straight back with the safeties until Franks scrambled.  Normally there would be a LB (or dime back) covering that area but with Franks scrambling to the right that guy had vacated the area to move towards the middle of the field.

Both safeties were also playing way too tight to the middle of the field for it to be cover 2 (in cover 2 they'd have to be positioned to cover the sidelines as well).

Gus didn't get this excited when UCLA came back. I think he's a Texas fan.

Great plays by the QB though, especially on the 4th down, and consistently escaping the pressure. Wow.

Why does this play by play guy keep screaming on every play?
Seemed like he used to do every single Texans game for CBS several years back.  Used to loathe him and the fake excitement he tries to create with his shouting. Was so glad when he moved on or was moved on.
